@@codyhayes3920 the servers are for some parts of it, but most of it is going to be handled on device. It’s why only M series chips as well as the new iPhone chips are going to be able to use it. If it was all on the servers then any device with iOS 18 would have the ability to use AI features.

@@jimscard I'm completely confused. It was but a year ago that benchmark tech channels pumped up how the 14pros chips had the most, yet now the do not? How can that have changed? If allegedly lower chips are doing on device stuff right now from other brands then were these benchmarks lies? It doesn't make sense. Siri can certainly be improved even if local stuff is limited so there's no excuses there . A quick search tells me M1 has less TOPs for AI stuff vs A16 so it's not that. 🤷‍♂️ If it's ram the is that more Apple BS claiming they need half the RAM of other brands, because looking at the specs the 14pro is half the ram of various other devices in its era. Which is it, either it's all lies and,BS or it's all lies and BS.

The reason the M4 pro is not selling is because it’s not pro, the file management is still unacceptable and hampers so many apps like da Vinci resolve that could be amazing. It’s a very cynical ploy by Apple and whilst I’m a fan in lots of other areas, this particular area, is where they are letting themselves down.

Some of it may have to go off device like the chat GPT thing and when this happens they have to use servers and buildings and coolers. While I agree it should be free when you paid 1200 for a phone. Eventually paying for extra AI services will become the norm just like paying for extra iCloud storage and music, TV, and all other subscriptions. You’ll get the basic free stuff with the phone and those that want extra can pay for extra. They all will do this, you just choose whether you think it’s worth buying or not.

The SD card slot has no click in and click out function. The Mac Studio SD card slot just feels cheap without this feature. You can never be sure the card is inserted properly.

I had planned on upgrading to the 16 Pro from my current 13 Pro but with the 16 series getting wider I’m gonna look elsewhere. I got rid of my iPhone 11 partly because it was just too wide for one handed use. My 13 Pro is borderline too wide for me as it is. I haven’t had an android device in several years but I may be forced to jump ship to get a more comfortable device.

The whole permission thing on MacOS beta was actually bugged as well. I tried screen recording on Discord and got so many permission pop ups that just kept coming. Had to force quit Discord to it to stop and then had to restart or manually close them myself. They fixed this issue in the recent public beta update.

It sounds like they’re going to ruin the Mac mini. I was planning on getting the m4 pro Mac mini, as a first Mac, but if they take away any of the ports, especially the USB-A ports, it won’t be worth it. Other reports are saying they may get rid of the fan and even replace the power cord with a cheap charging cable. I hope none of this is true and it still has everything the previous one has. I would like it move on from windows.

@@alexblankenship7385 I just saw another video where they showed the picture of the m4 mini and they said it could be the redesign. If it is, then all the ports are there, including the 2 USB-As, plus a third USB-C. The holes for the fan are on the top in the back. But they said the m4 pro is losing a port. Probably a USB-C. Hopefully this is real, but with a fourth USB-C port in the front. If not, and they ruin it, then I’m either staying with windows, or just forgetting about computers altogether.

Looks like I'll be upgrading two devices this year. 1 - 14 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max. 2 - Base M1 Mac Mini to M4/Pro Mac Mini. It will be interesting to see if the Pro version will also switch to the new form factor. Going that small will require an external power brick and I don't that at all, but is there enough room for a cooling fan?

Thanks for all the Mac updates! I'll be sad if Mac mini ditches USB-A, but it would be a very Apple thing to do. Can't wait for a properly good Mac event this fall! And again, I am so glad they let us turn off Apple Intelligence entirely. Those security popups sound super annoying though! That alone would make me want to stay on Sonoma for a while. (I mean, Sonoma/Ventura is already bad enough with "Allow accessory to connect?" annoyingly often when I connect a flash drive or SD card.) I recently had to start using a Windows laptop for work, and the popups are so annoying and are just one reason why I'm glad to own a Mac. I really hope they address that in later Sequoia betas. Maybe there's a way to disable it from the command line? Anyway, thanks for the video as always Aaron. I really appreciate the effort you go to ❤

No. Most people dont know how to change the default or even know other search engines exist. Also, the US is more on about how google PAYS apple to have them as the default. The EU went a step further to have people choose an engine, completely eliminating a default altogether

AI is still not at the level of mandatory daily usage tool for Apple to ask its users for a subscription pay. I think they just should offer it for free fire as long as possible to get most of its users on board with a generative AI system wide. Bro, hear me out. There's no benefit to having a Mac mini compared to macbook pro except price (of course I paid heavily on my monitor, mouse and keyboard). I have a Mac mini that I use daily for work and education.. But I wish I had bought a macbook because I get the same specs arguable and a screen and track pad and keyboard... I wish I had a macbook so I could travel with it and use it when I'm in bed. If you have a PC setup ready for Mac mini. Just connect monitor and everything else to you macbook and you'll be set. That's my suggestion.

I have a monitor that I want to upgrade maybe to a ultrawide one, and want to get the Logitech Mx master 3s and Mx keys mini both in white to match the white setup. Just a thought from 2021. Would it not be a good idea to revisit the CSAM effort utilizing the new AI features? No-one is technically reviewing your photos, but they can be flagged for such images/videos and reported. Any thoughts?
