So the new Emperor his Holy Radiance actually has a name that we just learned and his reign might be in the triple digits meaning this guy could literally be undead or some type of a light enhanced being. Now we learned they are wielding a brand new form of magic the so called Sacred Flame, imagine like a mix between a fire mage and a light priest. This is not just light they are using this power to fly zeppelins but most importantly they are able to resurrect actual undead through this magic which neither the fire mages are doing nor the priests. The light undead models have finally been explained. So what is the sacred flame, is this really light necromancy, who is the Emperor and could we be wielding this power soon?

​@@FumaPetardos-vb7qb I think there are a few ways they could do necromancer if it ever happens. One would be a new spec for warlocks that forsakes fel magic for death magic. Never do it as a priest spec, no holy spells should ever be part of a necromancer kit. Second, they could do a new class entirely. Personally, I'd do it with 2 specs, the classic ranged caster summon based necro that we all want. For the second spec, I'd actually do a dodge-based melee tank-spellcaster where you have a sort of Lich form can phase out of the physical realm and avoid damage completely for a few seconds. it would be a short-range (as in, 12y max range) mobile caster focused on AoE debuffing and draining for sustain.

@@5H4D3 the original necromancers in warcrafts lore WERE warlocks. Even casts like health funnel, haunt, shadowbolt, Rot and Decay, drain life, Rapid Contagion... and many curses are literally necromancer spells or passives. Two key differences between a warlock and Necromancer(which is just a necromancy warlock) is 1) instead of demons they call the undead 2) instead of fire and fell spells they use Ice and shadow

The lore established a while ago necromancy was a school of arcane magic. Kel’thuzad was a mage in Dalaran and exiled for practicing it. Not saying they couldn’t reflavor it or try something new, but I’d expect to see Necromancer be a mage spec not priest.

For instance create "necro fire" specs for priests, mages, warlocks, death knights - but they are all functionally different. Call em hero specializations or something. Create a "Life fire" spec for Pallies, druids, shamans, monks and a "battle fire" spec for warriors, hunters, rogues, and demon hunters. I like the idea of it having its own class though.

basically : its lightforging - just with un-alived bodys. its resurrection spells with domination magic probably. we seen naaru do it, even against peoples will, etc. so its basically still evil necromancy. but with shiny evil necromancy ^^ but most probably its just a reskin/subrace option for undead, and you will be able to make your warlock have lightflame instead of felflame or shadowflame/fireflame like they already have. but to be honest, i would not mind having a lightforge-mancer. kinda like the soulsmiths of castlevania.

I know the vision everyone has of a mage that uses death magic doesn't exist BUT Unholy Death Knight is just 100% a necromancer in plate and doing melee... so I don't see what all the fuss is about with people being angry at a "necromancer that doesn't feel shadowy and dark but light and holy"... there already is a shadowy dark one, that literally does all its damage as shadow damage, summons mages, skeletons and golems (the same minions a Diablo necro summons) summons armies, infects targets, reaps souls, ...

love the video, but one thing: how did Shadowlands make the lore * "insanely complicated" *? They just explored the shadowlands. The only new Lore Drop - which could have happened in any expansion - is how the 6 main dimensions/forces need to team up together against some creation-destroying force (other than the Void or Death), and that there are designers behind creation.

@@vladwell3726 I know what you're referring to, but what would they do mechanically different that would ever make blizzard put them in WoW even though Unholy exists? Unholy even summons the same minion types as Necro does in Diablo (Skeletons, Magus, Golems). So I get your desire for a cloth necromancer but functionally you're asking for a reskin of Demonology with skeletons and shadows OR for a ranged, cloth wearng Unholy DK... there is no niche for a traditional necromancer to be added even if it would be cool

@@Khaorel like being able to use spirits (ghosts), bloodmagic, actually being able to raise NPCs that you killed as minions while keeping the NPC looks, using sacrifices, illusions, using player graveyards to raise a player looking minion just to name a few. There's a lot you can do with it if you are creative enough and I'm pretty sure they could probably imagine something better who knows

The 3 bosses in abberus that are "failed" dracthyr, are they really undead? I thought they were bad experiments and not controllable and was just put in stasis. Also would be cool if that other Arathi faction we know little about that are with somewhat of a conflict with the Arathi would turn out to be the Scarlet crusade. We all know that the scarlet crusade keeps popping up here and there and always seem to have VAST amounts of people under their banner. Undead heritage questline shows this well aswell as that part in WOTLK up in the north where they had a small stronghold.

I was hoping for a literal void hunter when they teased it in Legion after Alyria was granted her void abilities from the dark Naruu. I could see hunters having a trap that acts like a black hole that "traps" the target and holds them there until damage is done and having void versions of pets that do neat things. Love that you’re theorizing on the next class already! I would like to toss in another suggestion. In mid night we are going to be reuniting the elves. All elves are descendants to the trolls. All elves are decendants of the night elf’s… what if the next playable class is the Night Warrior. Elune is many things, but acceptance of the void? I’m not so sure, if anything she is the balance between the light and the shadow. I could see the night warrior having 3 different specs based on the phases of the moon, a new moon, embracing the shadow, a full moon embracing the light, and the half moon, a mix of the 2. I could see this with a tank, healer, and dps kit for each spec. I see is leaning towards the moon and elune, before we ally with the Arathi humans and their light. I see the Arathi being what the scarlet crusade aways aspired to be, but they never were able to fulfill their legacy and potential. We don’t see the scarlet crusade as allies. How can we expect to do with the Arathi, what we could never do with the scarlet crusade? So yea… I’m leaning night warrior for the next playable class. Then again Tinker would be nice with the potential reclaiming of Undermine, buttttt I’m not holding my breath.

Nobody wants a light wielding necromancer, unless necromancer is going to be its own class with different specs for different ways necromancy is achieved, but even then that’s iffy. If we get anything added to priest it needs to be a purely holy damage based dps spec, something that exists equal and opposite to shadow.
