I like to call my resolutions or goals my "guiding principles" for the year. I feel like it removes a lot of the pressure and changes how I think about things. It makes it less about the end result and more about the process (at least for me) :)

I’m such a stereotype with my “resolution”. I lost about 30 pounds over about 9 months in 2023-24. Unfortunately, I slipped out of the habits I’d built and gained back about 15 of that in the last 6 months. I’m trying to get back to those habits and being more aware of what I’m eating (instead of the mindless snacking I tend to fall into), because (even though all the stupid pointless charts still said I was overweight), I actually felt GOOD. And I can absolutely vouch for Salt NY on dry skin. Omg it’s just beautiful. I want to place another order, I just have to decide which ones to get!

Salt New York saves my skin when it is dry! I don’t understand how they don’t stay sold out all the time. I’m so glad I tried them a few years ago. It’s really good for my ‘mature’ skin. ❤ I want to be more present this year. Not just go through the motions of life.

I'm focusing on using the products I have and getting myself out of a makeup rut. I used to be so much more creative and daring with my makeup, but lately, I rarely wear it. I am going to be pulling prompts out of a jar and pushing myself to be more creative with my looks. 😊

I have a running list that is the categories I need to fill. An example what is on there now: patterned leggings, jeggings, and a light weight solid legging or elasticated pant. I just replace items or look for a certain category that is lacking in my wardrobe. Last summer I bought a bunch of tanks in various levels of formality. I have two casual ribbed, several solid plain tanks, and three shells that I use as base layers for business casual. I'd rather fill holes with thrift store inventory than shop online.

Instead of resolutions, maybe they are a personal growth wish list? I am going to get back to the gym, for the sake of my body and mind. I enjoy weight lifting, and the new gym they built close to my house has a pool, so I can swim as well. The more I think about it now, the more I look forward to it!

I work from home, and most mornings, after I take my bonus daughter to school, i come home and go back to sleep for an hour or two. This year, I want that to be the exception, not the rule! Getting myself out of bed is the least fun thing in my day, and doing this is making me have to do it twice a day. I do have an autoimmune disease and in my almost 50 years on this earth, I've definitely learned and come to embrace that when I'm feeling really bad, rest is the only thing that helps me feel better faster, but Ive allowed myself the really bad habit of going back to bed everyday. By staying up and starting work earlier, i won't have to work as late every day, and i can go to sleep earlier! So that's one of my goals this year! I'm going to start the first quarter with allowing myself to go back to sleep a maximum of 2 days per week because I know myself and if I say i can't go back to sleep ever, i wont succeed!

I think you have the right balance here! Rest on the days your body NEEDS it, and maybe try to get up earlier on days when your body is doing ok. But your health comes first, always.

Its amazing how some people can carry off the really dark lipsticks and wine color eyeshadow looks It looks great on you I myself go for pink purple greens eyeshadows and rosy color lips . When I wear warmer colors I feel I am going outside my norms a bit LOL

And my big thing is trying to redirect my thoughts. When I say something negative, look at why I said it, and then change the thought process of where that thought came from.

My only resolution is to walk at least 10 min a day on my walking pad. My hope is to figure out and fix more of my health problems. Last year I got diagnosed with celiac and going gluten free has helped in a lot of areas but I have developed different issues (like chronic edema in my legs) and so far have found no answers. So 🤞🏻 i figure it out.

The biggest thing that helped me with buying things was canceling Amazon prime last May. I will add things to my cart and 1) usually end up eventually finding them locally 2) waiting until what’s in my cart qualifies for free shipping. Still not 2 day shipping, but free.

I don't know if it's the lighting, but it does look pinky toned and it's a little hard to tell. It looks nice though. If it keeps going pinkish it would maybe be a great blonzer in the summer lol. A blush bronzer all in one a little pink from the sun? Salt New York is such great quality. I used up the couple I purchased and need to grab a couple more. Great video!

Love your goals/resolutions. In Olney,MD, there was a great consignment shop there at one point, but it's been a hot minute since I've been out that way. I visited Maryland last year, and I am planning to move back soon. I love using my hands to work in my skin tint. 😅 The end look was fire! 🤎 I am just trying to get healthier, finish schooling, get more financial literacy, get a car, and some other plans. 🖤

I'm a shopaholic and most certainly have an addiction to it. I have more makeup than anyone could ever need. My collection rivels those of influencers however I bought all of that lol And I have four daughters I hand off all the makeup I'm bored with and I STILL have more than most. It's kind of ridiculous. And honestly I can't afford this, I use way too many payment plans apps. It pretty much eats up my whole paycheck paying them back. So needless to say my goal is to stop that. If I make a cart I close out of it. Move on with my day, get distracted, and lately I tend to forget about all the stuff I did that with so clearly I didn't want it that bad anyways. So that's one thing I'm doing. Also I'm going to be using my collection instead of buying new all the time. I have SOOOOOOO many beautiful things I've only used once or twice, sometimes never used. So I'm cycling through my collection and dreaming up looks with what I have even using more than one palette at a time to really be creative. I'm also going to stop buying so many coffees. I was buying one if not two every single day. Now instead I'm building up my coffee bar at home to do it myself. So yeah my biggest goals is money saving and also I really am planning to work on my weight. We shall see.

It's REALLY hard to slow down buying habits, but I'm proud of you for trying! You should give the "wishlist" a try. Keep a note on your phone where you list everything you WANT to buy. Make a promise to yourself to keep things on the list for a certain amount of time (24 hours, a week, a month, etc) before you buy it. That's something that really helped me to curb my spending.
