Solar and moonbyul are the group's workaholics. Both have to constantly be doing something, so they formed this subunit as a way of focusing their energy and keeping mamamoo's name in the news (which is why they named the unit mamamoo+). Plus, having wheein and now hwasa in other agencies puts in some extra hurdles into stuff for the full group, which is another reason these two have been working as a subunit (as if seeing each other 6 times a week wasn't enough)

The story I've heard is that Moonbyul came up with the title and gave that to Giuk. She got back the song that she then added her rap to.

Welcome to recent songs, this is how it is with mamamoo, they release new music and it is always like this, amazing. Between the albums, subunit, solos, OSTs, covers and collabs they release about 25 songs every year for the last 5 or 6 years. Solar especially has a lot going on with her youtube, just posting a cover of sk8ter Boy and moonbyul also has a couple of new covers on her youtube. I have mentioned Solar Emotion before, be prepared for those song and Moonbyul has a number of ballads in her solo albums as well. Mamamoo+ has an album with 3 songs on it, GGBB, Chico Malo and LLL, all are awesome. One is a throw back to the 50s and the ballad is as beautiful as this song. They have one other song Better they did with a rapper named Big Naughty. They did a song Bada Boom for a TV show technically before officially Mamamoo+ and they did an OST Super Gap, which is great. They have only been official 11 months. They also did a cover Promise U again before the official subunit but extremely beautiful.

I agree, Moonbyul and Solar sound fantastic together, and I love their harmonies! Yeah, Moonbyul has a lovely unique voice, and you can hear her sing more in some of her solo works (which are also amazing, imo). Looking forward to the rest of the album for sure! By the way, fun fact: Giuk (bassist/rapper of ONEWE) wrote lyrics and helped compose this song (along with Moonbyul, and one other composer)!

Moonbyul is actually an awesome singer. Her songs in her solo and a competition called “the second world “(I don’t know if the translation is right ) can prove that.She also got the 1st in the show.

This is MMM+, sub-unit of MMM which started in Aug 2022. This song is a pre-release for MMM+ first mini album: 'Two Rabbits' to be released on Aug 3rd. You should check out MMM+ other songs too: Chico Malo, GGBB, LLL, Better, Super Gap. And other Solar x Moonbyul songs before MMM+ was formed: Promise U, Bada Boom.

Oh Ross, where do I start? Mamamoo+ is a subunit that was formed around mid-2022. Before I get into that, I would like to point out that these two have "collaborated" on other songs as a duo. Maybe you can do a separate ranking for just Solar/Moonbyul (Mamamoo+) tracks? I would start with Promise U (remake of sorts of a famous older song) and Bada Boom (special song for Street Girl Fighter - a dance competition show). There's no official MV for Bada Boom unfortunately but they performed both of these songs at recent festivals. You can just check out the color coded lyric video. Coming back to the official subunit. The girls told moomoos that while they were busy doing solo work (and now that Wheein and Hwasa are signed with other agencies), Solar/Moonbyul still wanted to do music together and use the name Mamamoo so the fans would still get MMM related content. They released a single titled Better (ft. Big Naughty) and then earlier this year they released their album called Act 1 Scene 1 that had three songs. All three songs have MVs. Chico Malo was the pre-release, GGBB is the title track, and the third track is LLL. Now, they are coming out with a new mini-album titled Two Rabbits. Save Me is the pre-release and RBW is so incompetent that they still haven't added English captions, because as simple as the MV may seem, it has deep, meaningful lyrics (that Moonbyul and Giuk from OneWe helped write). The song is about feeling lonely as if you're the last person left on Earth. The title track will be out on Aug 3rd when the album is released.

I would like to add that all 4 members spent the later half of 2021 and first half of 2022 doing solo work. After that, they had a comeback and even did a world tour of eastern Asia and 9 US cities. Now I think Wheein and Hwasa are back to focusing on their solo projects while Mamamoo+ do their thing. The girls have said over and over and over again that Mamamoo will continue so I believe them. They will keep coming back together to do group projects as Mamamoo but just not as often as they did in the early years. Lots of people who haven't been paying attention have been panicking but I'm going to trust the girls and keep looking forward to what they have in store for us next.

For clarification, Wheein is with thel1ve & Hwasa is with PNation only for their solo activities. All MMM girls have repeatedly re-confirmed and re-assured fans that MMM will continue; they will never disband. They promise future tours & activities beyond 2023. They even already plan for their 10th anniversary next year.

@@josephkim3542 Here's the backlash~~~!!!! :'D jk lol I fell in love with GGBB the moment I heard the groovy intro. It's just my style :'D because I love dynamic songs. Moonbyul's verses are also amongst my favorite of anything she's ever done, and that's a big opinion considering how fire her repertoire is. Chico Malo seems to be the popular choice amongst fans, and it's great, but I wish the backtrack were a bit fuller because it feels sparse sometimes, especially when performing to a general audience. Maybe it's also because the song is more aggressive rather than exciting.

I hope we will eventually see another full Mamamoo comeback but with the lack of any contract between RBW and Hwasa and Wheein's Mamamoo contract expiring in December and the logistics of conecting it will probably be a while. Honestly I think Solar and Moonbyul saw this coming and established Mamamoo+ last year so they'd have a structure to keep coming out with collaborative material. They are both more workaholic than Wheein and Hwasa and Solar seems to have less interest in doing original solo work (I love what she's done, but there is just a lot less of it than the other members).

All four are constantly saying 'mamamoo will continue' in different ways, so just trust them. Both wheein's and hwasa's agencies have said several times now that they're still part of mamamoo and can (and will) do stuff with the group

Mamamoo+ existed before hwasa left RBW (most likely in preparation for moonsun to do activities without hwasa and Wheein). Wheein had already left RBW years ago. They may seem distant but that is ONLY because they are physically distant, not emotionally. They aren't in the same company and thus we will get fewer OT4 content (which has already been the case for the last 2 years). I have no doubt they will remain a full group, Psy and pnation understands that he can't be the reason mamamoo stops being a group. Anyone who signs any singular mamamoo member must understand that they ARE MAMAMOO.

And just to add, IF for whatever reason a company signs one of the girls and prevents them from doing mamamoos stuff, that company will get a shit storm of complaints. NO ONE wants to be the face that ruined mamamoo the singular most respected group of idols in the industry
