i think we can all agree none of our fans really wanted possession football, we’ve always wanted to be direct and get the ball forward which then entertains the fans and gets us behind the players even more. if he shows he’s capable of getting points and improving us i really hope he stays to help bring us back up because next time we’re in the premier league we can be more hopeful. i’ve accepted we’re most likely relegated but i hope we can enjoy the rest of the season by being entertained and getting more points

I think the new gaffer will have enough time from now to Jan transfer window to evaluate and get rid of some deadwood and bring in some quicker players to fight for survivor. It is going to be tough but I am convinced if Saints get a few good and unexpected results before the new year, there is always a possibility of staying up. I am dreaming but hopefully dreams do come true

There's a pattern here with the new manager. He makes weaker teams stronger with what he has at his disposal and keeps them in the league. This is exactly what we need. You are completely right in that we are likely to go down - so no one has anything to lose. I'm happy with what this guy will bring in terms with how the team will play - physical!! COYR!!

Also I reckon 1.4 points per match might just do it. That’s 30-31 points on top of our 5. I don’t think teams will need anywhere near 40 points to stay up this year. Closer to 30. But I still think we are down. Also I like the appointment but why does it take SR to be basically relegated before they really back us? Last time it was spend well over 100m this time it’s get a manager in who I think makes sense and excites me but it’s too late. They are so reactive. Need to be proactive. Having said all that, I hope he proves me wrong and keeps us up. I’m hoping he will manage to bag us a win against Palace, looking forward to Selhurst Park.

@@brendanosullivan3664 can’t agree more. RM really is clueless with his only failing style of play. As long as this new Manager play out quicker up the field and with hard running players we cannot be worse than what we had under RM. Slow and sloppy players like AA, RF, FD, JS may need to dropped for good. We need quicker and precise passing players to make a difference.

If he gets us organised and defend that's already better than Martin. I understand he plays on the break rather than tedious possession based football. You look at all the teams in the premier who are punching above their weight and they all play quickly on the break

Good news. A change was needed however it must be said, last season under RM was great fun and the majority of the fan base will be grateful for it but we all knew change would be needed this season. Doubt we will see ABK play in red and white again though. He’s notorious for skipping training and turning up late when he does come in. He doesn’t have the correct attitude for a premier league footballer and that’s why he is unlikely to ever make it in England.

Anything has got to be better than what we have suffered under the woke narcissist. From what I've heard about the new guy the premier league and our board don't quite understand the nature of the beast they are about to release. I think that several of the players are going to be crying for their mummies to come and rescue them. Only men survive under this guy. Training sessions are going to be BRUTAL and EVERY team place has to be earned.
