Sadly WG is more intrested in producing premium tier 8s. Maps are realy slowly coming, infact we still at a point where we lost more maps than gained over the years and the maps we got are nowhere near as good as the old ones. I hope they bring these recon mission maps in the game as fast as possible. OH we shouldn't forget some balance patches to tune some OP tanks down because they are killing the enjoyment of people and the game with it.

They're early access maps, right ? So it makes sense they wouldn't add much details if they end up being maps they don't add in the game in the end. You add details at the very end, when there's no more major changes to the map itself and that you're confident you'll add it to the game. Otherwise it's a waste of time and resources.

The map looks absolutely amazing. I feel that it addresses both problems of open maps and of city maps. It neither lacks ways to "safely" push a camping enemy team (as on Malinovka, Prokhorovka or Highway for example), nor is the map comprised of big areas that are impossible to work without the right kind of tank (as is the case for Ruinberg or Himmelsdorf). I don't think I will ever feel useless in a lightly armored support tank nor in a lumbering armor-clad bruiser. Even arty should have a decent choice of lines of fire without making singular spots entirely unusable for the enemy tanks.

The map has a good concept but because they feelt like constricting the open area by placing streets behind playing there as a support is really annoying as you will get spotted and there is always some angle for you to get shot from. On the other hand playing the elc on many of the newmaps just feelt totally broken as the bush and Ridgeline placements allow you to spot everything change flanks and take extremely agressive bushes without ever getting spotted

@@MrBejkovec I don't think TD's will have any problem on the map. Sneaky TD's will be able to use the elevated locations in the back for long range support or use the plethora of bushes around the map and tanky TD's are easily able to join the sides and use the walls or hills to hide their lower plate. "Close ter tal" would be the correct pronunciation. Which literally translates from German to "Monastery Valley". Personally I deem it Kloister. This map definitely has its strengths with being a very decent mix of city and open terrain. The city definitely favour faster heavies that can get into those positions by the fountains or ambush through the tunnel. The WoT mechanics are too forgiving/dumbed down to allow for a much more open and less hulldown favoured city, if WG added a "hardcore" mode with higher experience and credits but gave tanks less HP to spend but the chance to respawn they could make realistic locations feasible. I personally enjoy maps that are closely related to the realistic location and want to see more that are inspired by them, Cologne would be an excellent city map offering many wrecked buildings and numerous angles of fire. I'm not sure why WG has recently taken interest in having more tunnels and "indoor" areas, and the concept is cool but tanks are famously not indoor vehicles. Though if you ever get a chance to pitch a map, I think a map based in a mine would be absolutely awesome and fulfil WG's recent obsession with tunnel areas. There'd be lots of chances for hulldown ditches or cover, weaving corridors and literal pitfalls. Could also offer a chance to include dust as something that limits concealment or make it darker inside, giving muzzle flashes new life.

Deffo agree this map looks really good with the elevation, small hills and the layout of the buildings. You make an important point about map symmetry, i think its also important because if maps were identical on both sides players would get too good at finding the key locations and just stacking up on opposing corners. Part of map balance is giving opposite sides of a flank different but somewhat equal oppertunities for shots. Also i think they should make 2 connecting tunnels and open up both ends with a couple of linking tunnels between them to avoid getting trapped. This map looks great I want this is the regular game

You know whats good about this map, what makes it feel so much better is that 1.its big unlike a lot of maps we already have in the game, 2. a lot of it is playable, unlike 90% of the maps we already have in the game where half the map is unplayable 3. there is a lot of shit in it, unlike maps we already have in the game where you get 2 or 3 corridors and take your pick. What still sucks about this map is wargaming philosophy of map design, where the maps are all symmetric, designs are unrealistic, for example there are perfectly identical giant rocks on both sides with a single bush next to them, or take a city map for example, there is a bunch of lazy added rubble and identical knocked down houses with a window to shoot through, random balconies with bushes and giant rocks where it makes no sense, a lot of the textures and models are reused, for example there is only a couple trees and bushes copy pasted all around the maps, the houses, cars, fences, rocks, all copy pasted lazy around the maps. Generally maps feel like paintball polygons rather than actual places. Also they are too simple, straightforward and empty.
@kokoeteantigha3892 жыл бұрын
I actually wouldn't mind if they Google mapped a real area of the world whether historically accurate as a tank war zone or not, and then convert it into a wot map. Just that level of realism would be worth it. What's more, if playing from one end is more disadvantageous, then work something into the selection mechanism so a player doesn't rotate into the same map-end battle after battle.
@FOKI58952 жыл бұрын
@@kokoeteantigha389 There are 2 ways of making things balanced: 1.Give everybody the exact same way to win 2.Give both teams many different ways to win Its like football, you can have a game with 0 - 0 result that nobody enjoys, or an exciting 5 - 5 game. Wargaming picks the lazy way and evens the odds by making everything a perfectly symmetrical stalemate. Instead of a dynamic enviroment were each team is trying to do something different to win the game, in WoT both teams are sitting there trying to do the same thing to win the game.

Double the width of that tunnel, expanding underneath the church more, and add collapsed rubble from the walls periodically along the sides, I think. Also make it spill at angles rather than perpindicular to the wall, so that side scraping tanks can side scrape off the pieces of the wall that are missing. Or, add some kind of higher vertical terrain as well, so that it's not a hull down only area. Overall, seems like a step forward, with a lot of room for a good player to play dynamically around vision and firing lines to work shots in.

My gunmark is down about 8% even though I have a 2nd gunmark on almost all light. The reason is the TD positions, because they can only shoot at the lights and nothing else. Unfortunately, this is the case on all new maps. So it's no longer worth mocking. Lights are the new artillery that is simply destroyed with the maps.

Maybe it will get better once people are used to it but the tank playground was more of a meat grinder for both teams each time with one or two remaining from the winning team. The problem was with how busy it all was. Unless you're on the very edge of it all you're getting shot from all sides. The bushes are nice, but there's not enough space anywhere in there for them to be really effective. I like new maps, the new batch has been good in general i think. What appears to be fantastic about this map, is that Wargaming are starting to figure out that if they want to counter hull down always best meta, it starts with map design; specifically having fields/hull down areas as low ground, not high ground. As long as hull down points of engagement are also the highest/most firing line providing points on the map, hull down will always be best.

What I would really love to see are the maps from Steel Hunter used in the Random Queue. Because those are really good maps, which do not prescribe how the game is played. Currently, all the maps in WoT have the same common basics, there are just 2-3 corridors with camping locations at the ends and the rest is just more or less open useless terrain which is basically a deadzone since you can get shot from anywhere. This is not the case with the maps in Steel Hunter. No symmetry and much bigger maps and you have so many different ways to attack.

One thing I would like to add. All the new maps are far from their final state, visually and gameplay wise. What we got right now is mostly placeholder buildings and stuff, once they decide which maps will join the roster they will surely beautify them. I saw an Emil I fall in the same place as the FV in the beginning. The map should be named "Clumsyfall", of "Youretootall" XD. I fell over in the middle when I was jumping off one of these "hulldown hills" in ShPTK. Really weird map. The LTs near the church aren't nearly as covered as it would seem to them. I was sniping them with HE, almost snapping at times, it's a risky position.

All the maps are pretty great, been in several games on all of them, they are pretty nice to all types of vehicles, but not scouts, i think they have a very hard time to preform well.

Will an elc or EBR fit thru that tunnel?

They should test a map based on the Belgian Ardens. The area has so much historical importance

These maps are bigger and for the fast creeping. You'll HATE being a 20 mph tank

Might disagree on the church that was blocked. Maus or other heavy armor can just camp it. Plus tanks can get trapped especially if they are dead. Or dunno Overall, love the fact that there is a test map!
