I think it's neat that making these videos allows you to talk through your plan. I'm really looking forward to the video of changing this AC unit out. I wondered when we had AMFM how it would be done.

I never really have a plan as such, only a lack of fear to really mess anything up. But if that were to happen, I know a guy 😂 As for your 370, it would have been done pretty much the same way I'm going to do ours - if I had a plan, that is 😜

A lot of work? Not really, as I enjoy putting my videos together. That said, some take an inordinate amount of time (my look back at our old boats' videos typically takes me 5-6 hours to produce per video), but that's okay. Sharing our beautiful boating area, providing some insights on various boat projects and hopefully inspiring others make it worth the time invested. And I'm glad to have folks like yourself following along with the journey 😀

Did this exact job on my 99 370, wasn't to bad of a job. I replaced it with a marineaire 6k btu unit, fit well and works great!

Hey Paul! I replaced the A/C in that same location on my 420 dancer... Turned out to be a difficult project. My unit didn't fit through the drawer space, so I had to do a lot of disassembly. Turned out great, though.... I upgraded from a 12k BTU to an 18K.... Well worth the effort!

Thanks for sharing. Not sure if you watched my video from replacing the microwave on our last boat, but that also took a major disassembly to make it work. Luckily, the microwave on the current Boogaboo is still working, because I learned last year that there no longer parts available for that 25 year old relic and finding one to fit that space would be next to impossible. Wish me luck with the the new A/C :-)

Always something to fix or tweak on the boat. I have a few spring projects myself once I get my boat out of storage (I trailer my rig). I always enjoy your videos. They have been very inspiring to me. Cheers!

Ours died last year and we ended up finishing the season with just a fan in the aft cabin. It actually did surprisingly well with the forward air conditioning, but we'll probably need the heating side for those chilly Spring evenings after launch. Hope to be floating next week!!!! :-)

Im doing the same thing now on our Trojan F32. Im tired of messing with 1985 tech and R22. Went with a 16K self contained Webasto

We had continuous issues with the unit on our '87 300 Sundancer, so much so that I actually removed it and took it to a shop for repairs. Again, the repairs would have been close to a replacement cost - with only a 30 day warranty, so I brought it home and stored it in the garage for a year. Eventually, I put it back on the boat and like a Christmas miracle, it starting working again! Don't know why, but I'm thinking it might have been something as simple as the thermostat - another item we had issues with on our 330 Dancer. . .

@@BoatingWithBoogaboo sounds familiar 🤣 The F32 Trojans mostly had split gas systems. Compressor in aft of boat and 2 evaporators..One in Vberth and One on salon wall. I.bought another unit and never installed it. Also sits in my garage 🤣

Will be interested in the followups as my air is showing its age too. On a side note I see you still have the original Carbon monoxide detectors- time for a change???
@BoatingWithBoogaboo
@BoatingWithBoogaboo 3 ай бұрын
The original C02 detectors have been disconnected on every one of our boats since we got the 400 Sedan Bridge, way back in 2010. In my experience, they are unreliable at best and prone to false alarms at worst. We have battery powered smoke/CO2 combo units that work perfectly for our needs. If you go that route - even as a backup - be sure to change the batteries every season.
@erniefollis7827

Were they residential type or the dedicated (read expensive) marine type if you don’t mind me asking.
@BoatingWithBoogaboo
@BoatingWithBoogaboo 3 ай бұрын
@@erniefollis7827 The units we had on our last three boats were the 12V, hard wired marine type. I learned that if the battery power was low, that could trigger them. That's why I disconnected the one in our 400 and never looked back. But again, we have ALWAYS had battery powered ones on all of our boats, something tested at least three times thought he season to make sure we continue to be safe.

How far is the marina from your house? Since you visit quite often.
