ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Magneto looks so so good, they finally capgured the likeness and got the frame right for the body proportions, let's just hope that the head sculpt looks as good as the body. Can't wait to see more of those figures.

Sooooo excited for new X-Men toys!! I don't usually buy whole sets and focus only on characters I really like, because I feel it's a waste of money (and I live with my family, so space issues. I don't get a collector's room like a real adult.) But I'm gonna get the whole set because they look great quality!! I wanted to a few years ago with different legends, then they inflated in price over time. Thanks for a fun video, sorry you got food poisoning. Relate-able.

That X-Men line is a MUST. There were a few other figures in there that looked ok, but X-Men was hands down the spotlight of this vid. Love that Wolverine and the fact that it actually comes with TWO hands. And Gambit looks pretty accurate as well and I really love the look of the energy charged stuff. And they gave his bo-staff! Love the look of that Magneto as well. The only thing that irks me a little is Rogue's jacket is all green instead of the greenish/brown look from the show. And the Storm doesn't come with a single accessory other than some hands? Why couldn't they use some of the images from the intro where she has the sparks all flying off her hands? Just having her plain hands makes action poses for her seem really weak IMHO. It could be worse though.

Magneto desperately needed some more thickness and this looks much improved over the Spider UK. I still think the legs are too skinny. Really Rogue is the only one I don't think I need. Hopefully the old unhelmeted magneto will fit. That figure really should have a deluxe with extra accessories like the purple "flame" fists and hands in translucent purple. Hasbro could easily make a budget Magento that competes with the Mafex. The Wolverine head looks great and reminds me of the Mafex. That or the last retro card for a more realistic option are definitely my favorite. They've never gotten Gambit's hair right to me but this nails it.

I really wanted to like those X-Men ‘97 figures but they either look goofy, rough or just like plain old reuse. (Except Bishop he looks fine) Seeing pinless joints on Wolvie, Rogue and Storm is nice but not enough to make these a worthy purchase imo. Rogue’s paint looks really rough and that headsculpt ain’t it. It looks like it belongs on a basic figure. In any case im glad I can still stick with the versions I have, since these absolutely do not measure up.

I didn’t know this animated “X-Men ‘97” cartoon was coming OR that they’d make action figures. Holy s**t am I a ALL in. I adore Hasbro’s VHS ACTUAL Animated cell shading action figures, not those Retro carded 1/2 animated but ….but not really based on Animated television show figures they do. Base it off the animation or don’t at all. Reuse on bodies of the Pulse original X-Men cartoon figures pissed me off -once I know a company has the tech to make pinless joints, I never want to see them on a toy again. Makes the aesthetic and overall enjoyment of the figure more enjoyable. Also this subject RE: ‘double jointed elbows and knees’ Paying customer and toy fan for over 40 years here I love single jointed swivels on both elbows & knees. I see someone bend their knees or elbows with that articulation and it’s almost as if someone surgically removed their elbow or knee cap. Never understood the frustration and or disappointing + clamouring for an ugly and useless joint. Power to those who like/prefer them. Love it that these X-Men ‘97 have (mostly) pinless and single jointed elbows + knees. I wish McFarlane would do away with ‘toe/foot’ articulation too. Thanks for the coverage dude!
