I read EU and US internet speed got slowing down since more people use internet because of the lockdow. Maybe that affects the quality for US / EU players. But for me in Asia i got better matches. Most of my matches with 5 bar feels really smooth. 4 bar kinda laggy / slow down but still playable. 3 bar tho just not good. Capcom are still taking survey so expect more update for netcode and matchmaking.

I’ve stopped playing SFV due to this patch. I can’t get a game to run smoothly. I’ve got 400down 40up from my ISP, opened all the ports and it’s still bad. I got no answers but I’m not sure Capcom has anymore 🤔

I'm From Denmark (Northern Europe) and connections to south EU are still very bad, like italy and spain. After the patch even france has seemed to get worse. Crossplay from ps4 to Pc is just unplayable :/ ... I'm finally at the point where I'm just gonna give up on sfv, a shame cause I really like it

Ive gone from ultraplat 12960Lp down to super plat 10167Lp in a week. I never drop pts like that. Its putting me against laggy superplat and plat players who i'd normally destroy and it feels im minus on everything and they can do what they want. Make my drop lots of combos to. the lag actually came from the software judging system, imo. eg, in rank match, if the other side are smashing EX DP of ryu, u will see the lag came out. and that is for sure the other side is waiting and guessing your input. and another situation is, if u keep double tapping a button, the lag came out as well. so u can test it out. say u do a jump mk, then immediately smash ex dp.....

I can’t find any players at all. Yesterday I was searching for 47 minutes straight without a single match. Even IF I get a match it’s always the same people. In my experience matchmaking is slower but the quality of the matches conections has improved over all, like now I actually get people from the same region. So is kind of a trade off.

I'll play against many of the same people in each session, however at the same time the overall variety of my opponents has increased. Matchmaking at level 5 takes a little longer now and the lag is about the same, although I have been fortunate enough to have a good connection in most of my games for the last three years. I'm a Platinum with a 150/30 us/ds hardwired connection.

I put my game to search for any connection(s) both pc and ps4 and it can still take me 5 mins+ to find matches.... I know I live in the Caribbean which is most likely making it worse as it is but its still annoying to wait that long

I live in Texas and I can't find a single match in battle lounge due to restrictions and when I do find a match in casual or ranked, I can't get ast the loading screen before I get the 4002 message 🤦‍♂️

Dude, I'm from Brazil and is so frustrating, I can't find anyone, literally in casuals and ranked. I have to put the bars down to 3-5 to take 30-45 minutes long to find someone and then win or lost the match in 2 minutes LOL.

There have been disconnects mid match where I never or almost never had before. It’s still studders just as much as after the 1st patch.. sigh... why won’t Capcom just add the altimore patches as part of their fixes?

It seems they made the connection requirements even more stringent that for pure delay based netcode (I get plenty of USFIV matches still). Please open up the connections, but make it so we can decide/choose, not based on the flag you can just randomly choose when you first setup the game, but the real location based on your IP.

Before watching your video explaining what they changed on the matchmaking parameters, I was using as usual 4-5 bars only and finding none to play against. Then I changed to 3-5 and started playing a lot more, but sometimes against the same players. The connection is good though. Before those patchs I only found laggy matchs, so to me it was an improvement for sure. The problem is many people could keep setting 4-5 bars and since they're limiting themselves you might not find them anymore.

Just back into the game like 3 days ago. I quit sometime late February cause of work and the Covid 19 situation. And I notice I couldn't find any matches. I decided to see is Vesper had any issues and thank god I'm not the only one. Before the patch update even with that PC mod I was still finding great matches and learning. Now I cant. I feel like in the world if SFV no one wins.

I'm in Europe, it's been horrible for me as well. It used to be fantastic, now it's just the same people from northern Africa I'm getting matched with, nobody else. No Germany, no Italy, no Austria, no Holland, no GB, no France, none of the usual people (or countries) I used to play against and had a good connection to. I can understand how that happened - less populated areas got completely screwed over by the latest patch. None of those people you used to play against and have a "fake" 5 bar connection when searching 5 only probably didn't change anything, or changed to 4-5, and your connection to them was never a 5 to begin with (that's why I said "fake", even though the matches were fantastic in quality). Now you can't get 5 (or 4 or whatever) to them anymore probably because the ping is being properly calculated now, you're forced to put 2-5, same as the people from other less populated areas, which also happen to be on another continent and there you have it. I sure hope they revert this update to back to how it was before they decided to fix matchmaking. Edit: One more thing. The best part about this is that even though I'm playing people more than 2-3k miles away from Africa, those matches are most of the time playable and enjoyable in terms of connection quality.

Yesterday I played for 2 hours and I had only 3 online matches with connection set to any quality. Before I would get matches basically continuous on 3-5 connection. Stay at home and Capcom mess it up hard.

Let's keep in mind that the internet is under a massive amount of strain right now, it's bound to affect both match making and match quality. I tried to watch a movie on netflix the other night and it looked like Sega CD fmv the quality was so bad.

Yup I live in Trinidad and the connection is terrible now. Worst than before and I have a four bar connection. The roll back is ridiculous as and messes up the buffer inputs.I’m wired and I play on a ps4 system.

Vesper. I'm stuck in low ranks lol. I began when ce came out, I've played about 400 games. I'm only winning about 30-40 percent of games with Nash as my main. It seems like an uphill battle, obviously I can get much better but is my character a lost cause? Urien and some shotos only seem to be good matchups. Everytime I win points I immediately dump them to Gief, Cammy, Bison, Guile, Ibuki and it just seems like I don't have options against far superior characters. I don't want to give up on my character, but should I really?

They could have leave it how it was before it was not that bad but for me is worst . I from south America region. I finally reach super sliver I can't stand laggy matches . I vs people that have 5 bar connection and laggy and some that I play with 3 bars playing good with no lag . I don't understand that theory is frustrated man. I scared for rank from day one because you lose because of laggy matches and getting tea bag for no reason. Matchmaking doesn't seem too different for me, but the net code update causes matches with abrupt pauses. Doesn't feel as smooth as before.

I recommend everyone check their internet speeds before playing. I notice sometimes during peak hours my internet speed can me 30mb down/.9mb up and others it’ll be 200mb/ 5mb up. The former end being when I experience lag.

There are a few things better. As an european player there are a LOT less matchmaking with brazillian and US player, which is good. Also most EU countries have internet lockdown (resolution and speed decreases) and internet providers may even block online gaming during emergency state. Even so, SFV has been, overall, good. It works, little slowdown, and a lot of gamers still have 4 and 5 "star" net! Most recent "problems" came from Spanish connections, but it will return to normal

I used to get a decent number of matches and most of those were lag free, now with this supposed "update" when I try and play battle lounge I ONLY get paired with people from Japan, Canada, Brazil and Europe, and all of them have terrible connections...... Did I mention I live in Texas? Why the hell can't I find a single lobby in my country? Also when it comes to ranked matches I get paired up faster so that's a plus but the match NEVER starts! I'm literally stuck at the black screen while the circle loading image try and pair me with my opponent only for me to get the 4002 message at a blank screen..... Tf you do to the net code capcom!?

This is some of the worst online the game has been. It takes 45 mins sometimes to find a match. 4 bars lags now like a 2 bar connection. Also, the hurtbox change is really fucking me up. People get cross ups way when they're not suppose to and a lot my moves whiff with G now specifically the smash under lv 3 2nd hit quite a bit.

Give the player these informations: 1- The Ping (No fucking bars, because they don't mean anything). 2- The Country 3- Connection Type (Wired/Wireless) That's all they need for matchmaking purposes.

If anything, capcom needs to default everyone back to 3-5 bar instead of 5 only. People are so inflexible and unthinking that they haven’t changed to even 4-5. That’s on them tbh. Still.. capcom shoulda made the patch reset filter to 3-5 bars for everyone. 60ms or less (3-5 bar setting) should be good enough for this game to be smooth. I don’t know if it actually is, but it should be. That’s what they set 3-5 bars to.

I am from germany with rather good Internet connection. I played sf5 after release for a few months but got scared away, since it Took 5 to 10 minutes to find a match (in Bronze and silver). With Champions Edition i wanted to give it another try but have the same experience. Mostly i play against players of russia, italy and france. In about 100 matches there was just a Single one against another Player of my Country. Is sf5 dead in germany? Keep healthy everybody!

I swear that is a joke. I mean after 4 damn years they try to fix the netcode. Its not because they listen to the community. Because of that online Olympics, that is the reason alone not community. Look at mhw iceborne, that is communication and the developers like their game. I love street fighter franchise but since sfxt, sf4 ultra and especially SFV it's going down. If you watch further future, will everybody buy the next SF? Will they have 2nd thoughts? I had mine when I bought SFV but still as a fan , I supported that game. I am so glad that there are other very good fighting games out there. This fact on it's own will put capcom's fighting game devision under huge pressure xD if sf6 comes out I will wait and will not buy it immediately.
