In Medieval Dynasty, you take on the role of a young man who has fled from war and wants to take his fate into his own hands. From being alone, inexperienced and poor you will develop into a master of many skills, a leader of your community and the founder of a prosperous dynasty which is meant to last and prosper for generations to come. Defending against wild animals while hunting for food, gathering resources and crafting equipment, building a house and erecting a whole bustling village while founding a family all contribute to a unique gameplay experience across many genres. Tough winters and unexpected events challenge your skills and dexterity as you strive to build your own legacy.
You can choose to follow the main chapters, solve the questlines or just roam around and explore the vast medieval world - but be careful as wolves or bears may try to take a bite from you... Begin with the simplest things for your own survival like hunting and farming as well as building yourself a home. Found a family and have a heir - entice others to live near and work for you, erect many other buildings to transform your settlement into a vibrant village and, ultimately, a thriving dynasty that will reign for generations.

Medieval Dynasty is a unique combination of multiple successful genres:
Suvival: The need to survive, feed and ensure survival through hunting, farming and cultivation of the land.
Simulation: Create tools and weapons, construct and extend houses, stables and all manner of buildings as you grow an empire.
Role playing: Develop your own character, interact with NPCs, take care of your family and form community alliances by helping others and trading freely.
Strategy: While pioneering in the Middle Ages you will found and expand a village, manage the inhabitants, collect resources and produce all the goods you need and use or capitalize by trading them.

The indoor fire has two modes for cooking, Look at the firepit for grilling meat. Looking at the cauldron for fancy food

12:58 About that actually the peasantry were the one who had the vegetarian meals commons for like 90% to 96% of their whole life meals, the meat was preserved for the nobilities and emperors because meat was really expensive, one golden livre in medival France could get a peasant good chonky pig, but he would need to trade it for a larger amount of vegetables. Medival times I'm I right..

Yeah, it was also illegal for peasants to hunt anything larger than a rabbit. Poaching laws and whatnot.

I just wanted to come and say I am really enjoying the huge variety of content you are showing us these days, PSJ! And btw, meat in a peasant's diet was SUPER RARE. They were much more likely to be eating bread and some root vegetables. They couldn't hunt in the king's forest for much of anything. Cows and chickens were kept solely for their milk and eggs, respectfully. Keep up the great work, sir!

You can edit the walls of the building before you build it to make it like logs instead of the waddle. You can also change where the door is and change where the windows are.

Holy crap, I haven't watched your channel in forever, had forgotten what it was called too. I watched your minecraft series back in the day, remember as soon as there was a new episode I would watch it and try out making the same things in the game, haha. I wouldn't want to live in that time frame either, it was rough for everyone (not as much for most nobility) but was so much worse for women in most cases. But I love games like this, and books that are in that time frame :)

You can cook meat at your home, no need to build a separate fire for that. Just point at the fireplace below the cauldron, not the cauldron itself.

Medieval average life expectancy was severely impacted by extreme infant mortality. 1/3 of all children died before the age of 3, and 1/2 before the age of 10. After that, it seems that human life span is mostly unchanged. That said, as you show here with trees and untreated water and so on, a majority of the lower classes died quite young (30s or 40s) due to accident or disease.

Interestingly, average life expectancy was so low back then because the rate of death among babies and infants was so high it skewed the results. Providing you did not die from disease, war or starvation you were set for a fairly decent length life
