I really love my sichuan hometown foods, and the vide there is just chilling. My first Chicago trip dated back in 1985 with my dad and mom for a friend visit who happened to be a professor of University of Illinois of Chicago. He was also a livestock middle man that selling hogs/boars, bulls, and horses . My brother and my dad both were living in Northern Eastern part like small Cornell university town in Ithaca and Syracuse, NY. Me, instead lived mostly in the West coast Like LA, SF, Seattle, and SD. I have also lived in mid west regions like West Lafayette, Ind. for my undergraduate and graduate years. However, I received my doctorate degree from Florida and have spent most my post graduate researches and professional trainings across Texas and Oklahoma. For all other areas that I have been to were for conferences. I just returned from Taiwan last November, like you said, good for retirement unless you are high earning white collar person, otherwise you won’t have much left over in your wallet after all those monthly hefty expenses, if you choose over to live in cities like Taipei and Shinzchu Silicon Valley. My company stationed me in Suzhou 2006, That’s when I started to like traditional Chinese culture again. Around 2018 I chose to move away in searching for new opportunities outside of Taiwan Province because I just can’t take those narrow or sick minded Taiwan social environments any more. Thank god I found a well-known French international company where they have a large branch office in Chengdu and that’s where I am right now.
