I respectfully disagree. I know they had problems but Chris was so much better and his vocals were much deeper which worked perfectly. But that's just me I guess

First Cannibal Corpse album I bought was Kill in 2006. Love George's voice

Cannibal Corpse got me through my Middle East deployments. Whenever I got a minute to rest in my FOB, they were instantly shot into my ears

Is it? "There would be no reason for him to call me except for that" could just mean they weren't close, and people who aren't close don't generally call each other without an express purpose involved

They could of went instrumental as well. But george adds so much. First cd I ever bought was gallery. One guy was saying they have a different singer. Didn’t matter to me. Still have all thier stuff now. Don’t listen to butchered that much. If they kept that extreme for a few more albums they wouldn’t be as successful. They went the zombie route for a while then back to the gore scenario themes. My fave songs make me laugh how creative and catchy they become. Bloodthirst is my go to because it’s a combo of both. But the music is insane to play. The production suffered on a few but getting rutan and rob back was another good decision. Jack was the smoothest for sure. Great song writer. Seeing paul still do what he does and alex writing and his presence… Past couple albums came out great.

Don't get me wrong . I love George and he has awesome high screams .but Chris barnes with the first 3 albums is legendary imo .especially butchered and tomb .I like the bleeding but his extremely low guttural vocals have more of a staying power with me. Monstrosity imperial doom is a great album tho and George sounds evil on it

Best decision cannibal corpse ever made was kicking out Chris Barnes in the right time before he could drag the band down with him and appointing corpse grinder a beast of a vocalist

George is, hands down, *the best* vocalist in death metal history, and I would argue one of the best in metal overall. The sounds he makes are just inhuman, and the way he can growl extremely fast at FULL power is nothing short of astonishing. Totally the right move to get him!

Peak Barnes was way better. He had that gurgle, especially on The Bleeding and then on Maximum Violence that no one has come even close to. Sadly he smoked too much dope, shot his vioce and stopped releasing good music…

@@BanjoSick Nah I can't agree with you there. George's growl is deeper, fuller and louder, and even today his voice performs at 100%

Calling him "best vocalist in death metal history" is stretching it and overrating him a lot, there were/are vocalists that sound much better than him. Steve Rower, Will Rahmer, Lord Worm sound much better than this rabid dog sound Corpsegrinder does IMO.

@@johnzackarias11 It lacks that raspy gurgle in the goldie locks frequency. Hard to describe better for me but it's so satisfying. The singer of Mortiferum is similar, like a hipster Chris Barnes.

2:53 Atras se aprecia yo creo que una de las fechas mas importantes e incomparables de la historia metalera Chilena. Death, Cannibal Corpse, INCANTATION y la banda local Dorso. Es genial ver que tengan un poster de tan lejos de un pais que no parece importar a la hora de hacer eventos musicales hoy en dia. Sobre todo en mi ciudad Punta Arenas, al extremo sur de chile, literal vecinos de la antartica. Hemos tenido el privilegio de tener bandas como Krisiun, Pentagram (usa) y a SUFFOCATION Y ATHEIST en una misma noche! Pero debido a la lejania y a la falta de gente promotora de este estilo tristemente veo lejos el que bandas grandes vuelvan a pisar nuestras gelidas tierras, al menos lo aprovechamos!

I feel like, but I really need to make this comment. I love monstrosity and carnival corps is cool. Grinder is way more than a better fit for monstrosity than he is accountable corpse. Everybody thinks cannibal is still a good man and they’re definitely OK but what I’ve noticed about the last two or three does they become more and more noisier, there will never be a good and proper replacement for Chris Barnes
