I prep my land and put up a new metal building from Luna Metal Buildings! I will be connecting the new shop to my old shop to make one big working room.

Nice building and the elevation to send water away from it a big plus. Best of luck.

To make the ceiling breath as you do the ceiling framing or box you want to create an air gap. If you have a ridge vent then the eave vents allow it to chimney the heat out. If you install a Ridgid foam board over your framing the air gap will be even and consistent. The foam board of 1.5" thick would be good. It's light to work with, easy to cut with a knife and you can screw through it. You will need to tape the seams. It is pricey. Good luck and nice build.

Thank you Roger, it does have a ridge vent, I’ll start pricing out foam board

@@WiredCustomsSpeedShop no problem. I enjoy your show. I don't see them all but you are a resource I go to for your knowledge. I'm a carpenter of 35 years in the biz that has been slowly building a T bucket on an A frame with a four banger. I'm out of my comfort zone just where I want to be. As Rat Rod Bob says, "I'm getting there, I just ain't there yet!" 😂

Great job Zach Strangely enough, we both have the same building and the same caller. Only mine is 18 / 30. I used cream i Homeboard insulation six inch Back total three inches and 3 inches overlapped. Add the walls followed by 3/4 inch plywood. On the walls and a straight 3 inches on the ceiling. Right to the ceiling no Air gap No problems yet 10 years ago I built it. Also strangely I Also stained my floor I wish I went with Gray primer Gray paint. My stain didn't hold up well at all. And I went with radical green. Those roll up doors and the side door suck. Mine didn't hold up well at all. I fluid film the base of my metal building which helped it hold up very well for the moisture. It was started to rust at 1. Point They can't use a lighted light switch. When you go in there at night, the lighted lights which helps out a lot. Those solar power lights outside the door and everything help out big too. And I put a lid over top of my little Door to help keep the rain off big different. I also framed in a little white window. Way high to let sunlight in on the South side. I never put it in a concrete apron but I sure do recommend it I often thought about the solar powered street. Lights that you can get now the pretty big. I Was thinking about putting one inside. Overall, I love my building, and it's held up great with very little maintenance. I hope you put in a 4 post West I find them to be very safe I have a Rotary forepost Also I never put up security cameras and regret it to this day.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thanks Chuck! My stain hasn’t help up well at all already, very scratched just from them putting the building up and dragging material, also from me bringing in my heavy equipment. I do a lot of hard work in my garages and my old shop floor is pretty beat up. I’ve been worried about putting any clear or epoxy on because I would rather have a beat up floor than a chipped up one. Not sure what I want to do to the floor if anything at all now.

Luckily we already have security cameras up, I will definitely look into getting some solar powered security lights over there
