During a business trip to New Mexico in September 2015, I was able to take a few hours after work to railfan three different rail lines in the area: BNSF's El Paso Subdivision from Belen, NM to El Paso, TX; UP's Lordsburg Subdivision (part of the Sunset Route); and BNSF's Clovis Subdivision, which is - of course - part of their southern Transcon route.
I was able to document at least one train on each line, plus a variety of motive power and scenery. Both flat, barren deserts and lush, green valleys are prominently featured in this 16-minute clip with 10 different trains. It is also one of the first videos featuring footage from my new DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone.
Enjoy!

Nicely done! I was through there on Sept 2 and recognize many of those spots. The drone adds a new perspective to the video and captures more of the beautiful scenery. There are some great spots on Route 6 west of Las Lunas that would be awesome from a drone. Beautiful work!

The scenery in the drone shot is so pretty it almost looks fake.

Great stuff Evan. The drone stuff way above the New Mexico landscape was incredible.

The Belen - El Paso line is still dark territory in the 21st century. I hope you stopped at San Antonio (NM) for a green chile cheeseburger!

Evan. Just watched this video again. The shot of the intermodal that starts about 11:00 mark has to be one of your best shots ever. Love the whole video! Kevin
