It has a slight aventus opening but the mid, and dry down does it’s own thing for sure! Lots of people online are calling it an “Aventus Clone”, which is absolutely ridiculous, and does NOT smell that much like aventus. I think the people saying that either doesn’t know a thing about fragrances, or they smelled it on a test strip for 2 seconds, and through the strip away, and started typing their opinion, or maybe it’s a combination of the 2. Overall from what I’ve smelled on the test strip myself in both the opening and dry down, it smells really good and definitely something I look forward to picking up, and trying on my skin! UPDATE: I ended up purchasing it 2 days after smelling it because I took the test strip home and it was too good to pass up, and I absolutely love this fragrance on my skin! I can safely tell you that it is 100% NOT an aventus clone, and it’s not even close. It’s virtually impossible for it to be an aventus clone because the notes aren’t even the same, they’re actually completely opposite of each other. The only notes that Jet Black Intense and aventus share is apple in the top, and vetiver at the base, besides that the other 9+ notes in each fragrance are completely different. The apple is the only thing that makes them smell ever so slightly similar in the opening, and that only lasts for about 3-5 minutes then it totally goes off into its own direction becoming very distinct and set apart, especially in the dry down. In my opinion it’s definitely worth a blind buy. I’ve owned aventus before (which was also a blind buy), and I would lean more towards jet black intense over aventus on any given day. To call Jet black intense a clone is very insulting to the brand Michael Malul, and straight up not true, and not even close.

Yes it does have an aventus-ish opening. Also, try Malul Reserve, it smells like Stronger with you

To me this smells better than aventus, It's not so pungent. It's a very casual fragrance that seems to have more versatility where as the creed comes across as more serious. I had to tried the clone cdnim, and actual aventus, And personally both were a little offensive to my nose and I just couldn't get myself to like them. It was only when I caught a smell in the air did I see what people liked about them, but i couldn't stand either on me personally. While at the store I was recommended this, as perhaps a solution to not liking some of the more pungent notes of aventus, but liking aventus in the air. Yeah, that recommendation was 100% correct. This is like a more fresh and youthful Aventus, Or kind of what I imagined it would have smelled like given all the hype. If aventus wears a suit and gucci frames, Intense wears a casual Fresh T shirt, and raybans, if that makes any sense. It's way more likable to me and I can honestly recommend it.

Intenses are fun to smell because some are intensely darker and others are intensely softer or missing stronger notes.

I must've been sold a counterfeit.. I smell everything but bergamot, it's too sweet, amberish.. I would kinda compare it to some extent with Xerjoff Erba Pura
