Please add more scales! We only have the basic ones... Cubase did it right with many scales available and it also features custom scales. Also it would be great to have a record in scale feature. I know we can use the Apply Scale macro, but recording in scale would be better

That scale setting on the left can be set to more than major and minor. phrygian, dorian, mixolydian and blues are in there. Lydian is missing, though.

Yes, that's cool, but unless I am missing out on something, we still have a limited amount of scales to chose from. It would be even better if we could make and store scales manually. The extended cursor is pretty cool, but the amount of accidentals is frustrating. Maybe if we could vertivally stretch the piano view even further and/or make it possible to turn off the individual functions manually with a hotkey? I don't know, so many options you could consider. In the state it is right now, the basic interaction and functionality in the piano view is lacking usability while the more advanced things are awesome.

Thank God presonus finally focusing on midi editing. But please it's been years people asking for a macro or way that selects all the notes in all instrument tracks and shift up or down

To be fair, there have always been many MIDI editing improvements in every major version since version 1. Transposing all notes on all instrument tracks: There are so many different ways to do that: On an Event level, on a Track level or in the editor view. Just one of them: Select all Events (Ctrl/Cmd+A) and run "Transpose Events Up / Down". (This changes the event transpose setting. If you want, you can do "Render Instrument Tracks" to make the notes visually reflect this as well.)

Can you guys also make it an option for the *Listen Tool* to audition notes in midi parts - instead of starting playback from the point in time the tool is used? I love how FL Studio lets you audition the selected notes/chords in the Piano Roll infinitely, for as long as the tool is active.

Studio One may already have this and I don’t know how to change the setting but is there a way to make it so that plugin windows stay open until I click the exit/close button or am I stuck with the “once you click another plugin it switches over” option?

@@patrickm.4469 SoundVariations is basically the S1 solution for Articulations. So for example when you use Strings Library like VSL (Vienna Symphonic Lib) then your strings have various articulations like legato, staccato, pizzicato and so on. And each articulation/SoundVariaton has a color and I would like to see that color on the notes.

Is there a function that I can Cut events or midi notes automatically according to the quantize setting (1/16 or 1/8)? For example. I hold in a mofdifier key and cut and the event or midi note will be cut at evey quantize position on the grid as per the quantize setting. (Alt+cut)

please give us the ability to toggle the background off but still keep scale highlight. I use the scale feature for quick drawing and dragging. for me personally, there is a disconnect with this update when im dragging the notes around about what key im landing it on unless im zoomed in far enough where the note displays it. I would really really appreciate for the old grid background to have an ability to return or to just take this a step further and do a scale collapse feature like ableton or cubase. I realize im in the minority on this and probably most praise this update. But I really really struggle to work with this now to where I would just rather keep it off. for me it just creates a brain fog while working about whats what and i spend so much time focusing on the note.

You can just select a key and scale without checking the scale quantize box, and set the note color to scale and just avoid any red notes while inputting them in the piano roll. That way you'll have the same white and black key relationship as on the piano roll at the same time know when a key is out of scale by the red notes.

@@skipnobeet8765 hey sorry for taking so long to see this. amazing suggestion. i prefer this way when checking the box. but i still miss the function where you can drag the notes in scale and it wont input on wrong notes. just made it really quick to draw stuff out. no big deal on melodies but i miss it for chords. i should probably learn the chord track. I wish they went the ableton and cubase route and just took it a step further with scale collapse/fold to make it really easy to see your triads and so on. Thank you for this though it will be a huge help for me.

FEATURE REQUEST: Hey, is there any plan (or any current way) to have this feature: I would like the default length of the MIDI note to be that of the previous one that was created. So, let's say I make a MIDI note by double clicking, then extend it to be 2.5 eighth notes long, it should set the default note length to that. So when I create any subsequent notes, they will be 2.5 eighth notes long.

I've created a macro where I can extend and shorten notes ,then every note I enter will be that length. Doesn't work by shortening or lengthening the notes with the mouse though.

The pitchbend range is set inside the instrument plug-ins and can be different for every preset. So Studio One can't know the actual pitchbend range hence can't display or input it by semitones... (or it would have to be set manually with an option for each instrument that uses a different range than -/+ 2 semitones)

Of course the range is set manually in the instrument itself I don't see any problem with that. The function I'm talking about has long been implemented in cubase with semitones grid. Or even better in ableton live with their note expression

These are all very nice features. Thank you for that. But please add MXML export. That would shut up most composers who stick to Cubase for that reason. The don't use Notion, they use Dorico or Sibelius.

I would just like for quantization to work properly. Honestly having to manually move notes after quantizing because they move to a different point than the nearest one is just frustrating. Please, fix that. On a sidenote, fix rounding for clip and note lenght for non-straight divisions like triplets and so on. if I duplicate something that fits triplets grid they count as longer than a unit, so duplicating the clip or note behaves differently than using straight division.

It's not gone, you just needed to enable it on the Listen Bus (I'm assuming you use the Listen Bus since you've mention this). Also, if you update to 6.2.1, this issue should be resolved.
