Such diligent and clean work! One day you'll sleep well on board, knowing that the attention to detail and craftsmanship prevalent throughout the build will serve you well. When needed the most, all the strength and structural integrity you could ask for will be there! Keep up the great work!

Regarding your vacuum pump, I assume there is oil in it. As an old cooling mechanic, I would say that the oil becomes saturated with moisture and thus needs to be replaced. Synthetic oil is more sensitive to moisture and binds moisture more. It doesn't have to be a fault with the pump. Just a thought among all expenses👍🏻

I'm an armchair fan and have watched every video in this build process, to say I'm in awe of your achievements would be an understatement. We have a tendency to forget our struggles and pain when a goal is reached. I really hope that when you are off on your sailing adventures with this boat that you remember what you went through to create this wonder - and remain extremely proud of yourselves!

Definitely a more challenging laminating project. Lots of 3D complexity. Kudos for plugging away at this in such a well-planned, methodical and I'm sure, under the circumstances, a tiring process.

For the vac pump, make sure any filters are cleaned or replaced, also ensure oil level is correct My guess is that the epoxy (as a gas) is clogging things up, i almost want to say you need a separate filter in the hose that can easily be replaced, but not sure what is available

I lived in Northern Alberta in Canada and I can see the long shadows during the day , your almost to the shortest day and things get brighter and so will your energy level. I am impressed with the carful methodical process you employ on this important structural component an excellent result I think and congratulations on your steadfast work ethic to get this done right! Change the oil in your vacuum pump run it once then change it again , both water and off gassing from the resin cure build up overtime and contamination causes issues.

Great job! Laminators couple of the year😊 very good in the heatting! Temp is the most important fact for epo. When is cold i use: heat gun in the material, warm up the epo in insulatuon oven and low power blankets over the lamination 48 h time. 18 -22 C best cure molecular prosses. Very nice work👍⛵

I have to agree with someone else’s comment that the whole keel grid is so impressive …. that I won’t be surprised, if after it’s complete you add another full layer of glass all around the edge, from the top of the floors up another foot or so on the hull to connect it all and spread the load even more. 😊 Think of how easy it will be to lay down nice flat pieces. 😅 Love your dedication to this project.

Are you using a "catch pot" with the vacuum pump? If not, then there's a possibility that some epoxy has gotten in to it. One can diy such a pot easily with a 10cm piece of plastic sewer tube and a two steel plates, with the top one having two hose outer-diameter holes. Plates and hoses can be sealed with the liquorice tape. Also check the oil-level at every prep session. Thumbs up, great project!

So boat projects take longer than expected! Who knew! My sense is anyone who owns a boat. No need to be apologetic for the pace of the build. I’m amazed at the progress you’ve made. It’s enlightening to see the detail required in the structure of these vessels. All of that said 17 hour days is way too much. Take some time to enjoy life and take care of yourselves too. Couple of suggestions. 1)Have a sheet of plastic or cardboard you can take to the job with you to act as saturation table. 2). You can buy tapes of various widths. Much easier to cut than cutting them out of a full roll. 3) would compression roller over peel ply be good enough? How much are you gaining from vacuum bagging?

Trying to help with this comment on bagging for vacuuming. No criticism. When you place the perimeter sealing butyl tape, every where there is a change of direction add a 1 inch pleat and carry the pleat across the whole area. Leaves a bit of slack under vacuum. Guarantees voids are pressed harder.
