How do you quote retaining walls?

And will weeds eventually grow up through the millings like they do with crush stone? Great videos!

Yes, eventually weeds will grow through the millings. Unfortunately weeds will grow through almost anything unless you chemically treat them.

Looks really nice! Great job! How do you bid a job like this…. Driveway took two days, plus materials. Also, are you worried about that downspout and water issues impacting the retaining wall? I didn’t see any drainage behind the wall….

Thanks! As far as bidding goes, it's very hard for me to convey how we bid. Everything is based off of experience for the most part. We do a lot of comparisons to past jobs and adjust pricing depending on site conditions and other variables. Every single one of our jobs is done with an estimate. We do not ever do hourly rate. In this case, 40 yards of millings are very easy to spread in 1 day; although in this case, the material was delayed, causing us to have to come back for a separate day. As far as the wall goes; this was a budget job. Aside from budget limiting extra materials such as drainage, this wall was very close to the septic system, so we did not want to excavate any further than we had to, which didn't leave us a ton of room for drainage and aggregate. If I were to do this job over again, I would have tried to install a drain pipe behind the wall. At the time, and under the circumstances, we did not do it.

How long will the millings compaction last? Longer than 2A modified?

what's kind of fuel consumption do you get with the T66?
@NKLandscapingLLC5 ай бұрын
Not exactly sure to be honest. We never really run the machine for hours on hours straight, unless I am brush cutting. The fuel tanks is huge so during normal projects, even 5-10 day jobs, we may fill up once or so. It's honestly pretty good.
