I have been waiting for Milwaukee to bring this M12 cordless ratchet 2569-20 out for a long time. The day has finally arrived and I bought one. Extended reach, high speed, and a new slimmer ratchet head. In this video I open it up and compare it to my other M12 ratchets, visually and speed. I run two bolts down and see how much of a difference the high speed makes. Is it noticeably faster? Watch this video and find out.

I held up from getting an extended version to modify ever since picking up the regular High Speed and love it. I knew the extended version was coming out so hopefully picking one of these up soon. BTW your absolutely correct about breaking bolts with the High Speed unfortunately for me it was actually my Negative Post on my Optima Battery when installing it back onto my car🤦‍♂️ I gave it too much beans and that sucker tightened it up so fast before I had a chance to let go of the trigger it ripped the battery post clean off SMH. I learned the hard way to feather the trigger after that. 35 pounds doesn't seem like alot, but when your flogging that pedal with that RPM it can really hit hard when it bottoms out so be careful 👍🏻

Just ordered one today since I have to change sixteen hard to reach spark plugs in my HEMI. I have the 1/4" regular and it was no help for this upcoming task (though it is great for quick-spinning low torque stuff within reach). Most places say they are out of stock/back-ordered, but I found one luckily.

Glad you found one. I pre ordered mine through a vendor I deal with at work. Let me know how it works with your hemi. Mine will be seeing mostly ecoboosts.

I just got mine in last week, noticibly faster than my Snap On brushless but not as strong, to me the speed is more important, plenty long to break fasteners loose and tighten down. Loving it so far

I agree with you on that. With the ratchets I prefer speed. I usually break torque manually then run the bolts in and out with the tool. Super happy with the smaller head size. How do you think it'll hold up?

Looks like that new one has just a slightly smaller head than the one you changed, and 5 ft lbs isn’t much torque difference at all, glad u did this comparison!

So far I'm very happy with it. I rarely use the ratchets to break torque, so torque wasn't a huge priority. The extra speed is going to pay for itself in no time. I will be converting my old one back to 1/4 this coming week. Thanks for watching! Now Milwaukee needs a high torque version to compete with Snap-On.

Cool. I have had the original m12 3/8 ratchet for years and it is an excellent tool. I want the 2569 for sure though, but I'll wait for a sale (if that ever happens).

@Shaners Mechanic Life Unfortunately my macco guy had a deal you buy the 3/8 get the quarter and the 4.0 battery for like 600 bucks plus I could not find them anywhere but they are great

Being a Heavy Duty tech I find myself needing torque more often than speed. I'd really like to know if you now prefer the speed over the torque. I'm still undecided if I should buy the 1/4 and anvil swap like you did.

If you need torque that one should get a right angle impact.

Honestly I prefer the speed. I generally break torque manually then run the faster out. I will be converting my other ratchet back to 1/4 inch.

@@shanersmechaniclife3164 I'm thinking of scenarios like I was in recently where I couldn't fit an impact. A higher torque ratchet would be fit perfectly after I broke it manually. The thing I don't like about my high speed ratchet is it doesn't do well when the threads are rusty. I'd like to try out the higher torque for that reason.

​@@Jay_Ira I'm also a Heavy diesel mechanic/fitter. I find my needing the higher torque ratchet due to dirt, rust. The high speed keeps locking up and I end up just grabbing a manual ratchet. So I now have the high speed at home.

I’m trying to decide which one to buy. The older version or the newer one. I thought the older one was 55 ft-lbs ?

I just don’t understand how this thing is the same exact as the Dewalt one but this one gets 35 foot pounds and the dewalt gets 70

I think they kept the torque down because they slimmed the head up. Also they lost torque when they raised the speed of the motor. I havent tried the Dewalt. How big is it? The Milwaukee looks to be smaller.

​@Shaners Mechanic Life I have the 2557 M12 and it's smaller than the Dewalt or most electric ratchets. I would say in speed its comparable to my foreman snapon, not sure what model it is.

If it’s gonna snap the head at the end of tighting a bolt then is not reliable. Not a good tool if has no resistance when tighten a bolt.

It does have resistance. I was referring to using it at full speed running very small fasteners in.

I have the Milwaukee Extended reach high speed ratchet. Just got it not too long ago and here I am, researching the ryobi, thinking I may have made a mistake . Why? The Milwaukee is fast… so fast… but it has no torque. It could barely handle 15 ft lbs. It sucks having to manually break loose every bolt, and the on top of that, it still won’t spin it out if the nut or bolt is rusty. This isn’t helping at all, it’s slowing me down. Wtf milwaukee? The last video I saw the ryobi extended reach was able to break loose a 65 ft lbs nut. 65!? That’s freakin crazy. I may be going back to Home Depot. Still going to do a little more researching because they ryobi had the huge battery which I feel can be a problem for hard to get to places. 🙁.

Every tool has its pros and cons. One has lots of power but is bad in tight spots. The other has less power but good in tight spots. Let me know what home depot isle you end up spending money in. Thanks for your feedback and for watching.
