I'll stick with GPT 4o Mini. It's so cheap you can feed it 50K-60K tokens every request (on other words MASSIVE codex, worldbuilding stuff...if you're a world builder like me) and still only costs about 1/2 of a cent to return (give or take) each scene beat, but it's returning what you want because you're feeding it so much. I want the AI to be talking about MY stuff, not stuff it makes up.

Okay, I paused the video @3:21 to try this for myself and got some astonishing loglines. They're so good I have to wonder if the AI is repeating a concept of a popular novel I'm unfamiliar with. - When a graffiti artist paints a mural of an ancient god, he summons it to life and must stop its wrath before the city crumbles and his art is all that remains. - When a bartender inherits a speakeasy that serves drinks to mythical creatures, he must protect them from a detective who believes they're responsible for a series of murders. - A tattoo artist's ink brings mythical creatures to life, and she must use them to stop a rival artist from stealing her clients' souls through his designs. That's the best pick from the first AI response. The exact prompt I used was slightly altered from yours: Give me 20 loglines for a mythical urban fantasy story, in the style recommended by Blake Snyder that includes the following elements: The protagonist, the context or setup of the story, what the protagonist wants or is trying to achieve, the antagonist or main obstacle facing the protagonist, the main conflict that drives the story, and an ironic hook or twist that makes the concept intriguing. Each logline should be 25-30 words to concisely capture the essence of the story. Aside: there's a lot of "this or that" in the prompt, which I theorise hinders the AI in giving a clear answer. Is there a reason you wrote it like that?

I've been using Mistral a lot over the last year. I didn't love the latest change, but on the whole it's pretty solid. My biggest problem is that when the context window gets large, Mistral starts adding clauses, phrases, additional terms, redundant descriptions, comma-separated lists of alternatives.

Set context to 48k or 64k, it makes it a lot more coherent.

I am impressed by Mistral with its Bulgarian language - no complaints, at least for non-fiction. On a par with ChatGPT-o.

Interesting ! As a newbie trying to write my first short story , is this user friendly for a beginner ? I have a general idea for a story line , just need to fill it out with details .
@Pyriold26 күн бұрын
Its as user friendly as the more mainstream models. I mean... you say what you want to have and it delivers. With mistral, similar to the big ones (chatgpt and claude) i get the feeling that most of the time, it 'gets' what i ask it. Cheaper models are often too dumb for that. So, it's really in the same league, maybe just slightly below the top models.

i am very interested in using images to create a story especially when it can create nsfw content , because chatgpt is a real frustration in that regard

Le chat incorporates flux for image generation. Not sure how NSFW the images can be, but text wise, Mistral is very free. It never blocked anything for me.

I will say I’ve gotten ChatGPT to create some very nsfw content. Albeit some things it just can’t do.
@peterlam163526 күн бұрын
let me clearify : i import an nsfw image and with a bit of text i want to create a story based on that image combined with the text guidance . that does not work in chatgpt , well not if the image is to explicit .

I feel kinda bad because I think my prose is more flourishing than other styles so people will probably think it’s AI from what you say. :/
@discoveringthei26 күн бұрын
Using it to expand the scene, rather than write it whole cloth, can fix the pacing problems (if you, the writer, know how to pace the scene), and it will expand and rewrite the prose in a consistent voice. As a way of speed running a draft with a mid-tier level prose, these programs are amazing. In order to actually write a book by itself. Still not great.

I don't understand. Who wants to deal with all this? Why not just write your book...?
@thornelderfin25 күн бұрын
I will give you one example. Maybe others will find more examples. I have to write a long detailed story as a part of a product. For business purposes. I am not a writer, never was, never aspired to be. English is not my native language (not even 2nd), so there is no way for me to produce content of any quality. And no, I cannot hire someone, there is no budget for it. So for my specific circumstance AI is salvation. It takes 50+ hours of work to set up all the prompts and tweak/calibrate the responses and everything to get just relatively ok results (it's not Shakespeare or Lord of The Rings, but it's not bad either). It will probably take few hundred hours of work to create the system, but that's ok, I am a software engineer, that's at least something I know, unlike writing / storytelling. ... Now, if writing is your personal hobby, then obviously AI is not for you. But for business, it's very good.

@@shebreathesingold8043 I do all of my writings in a custom gpt that has nsfw instructions, but if you don't know how to find those, you can try using command r+ on huggingchat or perchance AI Story Generator.
