I really love your channel. My 3 year ford escape lease is up. It only has 35,000 kms on it and it just needed 3200 dollars of work done to it which I think is redicilous. So with the warranty almost up. I decided I don't want to buy out the lease. I was looking at the Kia Seltos. Took it for a drive and loved it. When I found out there was a recall on the engine I decided to not get it. I watched this video and went and took the GT RVR for a spin. Love it pick it up Tuesday. Mitsubishi is actually still pretty big here in Canada. I see more of them on the road than I do Nissans or Kias for instance. They're probably even more common than Volkswagens (at least here in my city). Idk if it's because Canadians are just poorer than Americans are or what but still I feel that they get a bad wrap unfairly when Korean cars for instance are often more praised while being much less reliable in general.

@@markc5677, Agreed. Oddly enough, my city's (Temecula, CA) southern neighbor (Murrieta, CA), just opened a Mitsubishi dealership late last year or early this year and I think it's doing okay? It was sort of bizarre to see because in the United States we view the marque as a dying one, despite providing for very strong competition to other manufacturers all over the remainder of the world. But yes, to your points, they need a stronger dealer network and better, broader advertising within the United States if the company wishes to survive.

Just to confirm. Mitsu came from near death up 11% so that is Good. Any car company that has wasted there "Good will" like Mitsubishi has deserves what they get. Having said that I think that Renault - Nissan may have provided considerable grease to keep this ship moving. That would have been with "conditions" such as provide customers with products they want. And we wont provide unconditional funding unless you perform. I don't think this has always been the case at Mitsubishi. Hope they do better … For the record I have owned a 2013 Lancer Ralliart. Was a car that was good that could have been great. Great review! The trim & handsome Outlander Sport here in the US ranked highest in its' segment for reliability by Consumer Reports for several years since its' debut: It beat the RAV4 & CR-V! Not only that, but it achieved the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating, again beating the RAV4 (which failed miserably in driver-side small overlap offset [2013], and later, passenger-side small overlap offset [2014] crash tests) and CR-V. The Outlander Sport's smooth and relatively refined CVT is better than others' too. They did a great job from the get-go with the Outlander Sport/RVR. Mistubishi is truly the underdog brand. They are much better than most people perceive!! Go Mitsubishi!!!

RVR is the equivalent of the European ASX, right? I have mostly enjoyed Motormouth's reviews but, lately, they seem to have begun lacking criticism and started being more sort of advertorials. "There are silly comments" about the Mitsubishi brand and resale value? Well, perhaps they are "silly" in relation to their performance in the Canadian market, although I doubt Mitsubishi is such a success even there. In Europe, where I am located, Mitsubishi is just another underdog, especially due to their poor dealer network quality and a lack of marketing, especially towards young buyers. I would even put Mitsubishi, in terms of current brand awareness, in the same league as Ssang Yong, Subaru and Suzuki (and, by the way, the new RVR / ASX looks almost like an European Suzuki Vitara clone). Mitsubishi sells those 2.0 and 2.4 liter N/A engines, which are way underpowered for current standards and Motormouth calls this "great value"? Do those guys at Mitsubishi know this is almost 2020, not 2002? Long gone are the days when people were dreaming at Lancer Evo's and Pajero/Montero/Shogun was one of the few rulers of the offroad. Their cars may be of decent quality but, their design and marketing approach seem average. That's why "newcomers" such as Hyundai and Kia managed to get such a significant market share, in the last decade - they opened their eyes and kept pace with the trends. And I doubt their quality is better or worse than Mitsubishi's. It's just a pity brands with such heritage like Mitsubishi, Subaru etc. have lost so much due to conservative strategies.

George Soroceanu I’m sad to say that Europe is a dying car market look at the sales over the last 10 years and many countries have already strict emissions look at Norway and Sweden
@GeorgeSoroceanu
@GeorgeSoroceanu 5 жыл бұрын
@@f181234 Well, I am afraid it's a dying market but only as we are used to know it. All these continuously appearing regulations are actually forcing Europeans to buy new generation cars, as you have no other choice, anymore. It is more and more of a financial burden to own an older car (or a new non-compliant one) due to heavy taxation in relation to its emission levels or/and displacement. That's why, for example, here that 2.4 Mitsubishi engine is a real red flag, especially being so underpowered. Just think that you get ~ 170hp out of that 2.4-liter, with associated emissions and displacement-related ownership tax, while an 1.5 turbo Honda Civic gives you 180hp, for example. It was a big surprise for me when, in the last decade, I have seen the North American market downsizing to car models such as Fiesta, Cruze, Spark, Yaris, 500 and so on. I never thought such car segments will ever exist there and, still, here they are. North America introducing such small cars and compact SUV's, while Europe is also embracing large SUV's and raised the bar for what a standard trim vehicle should offer, becoming more demanding (similar to N.A.) I think, step by step, these two giant markets, standing on each side of the Atlantic, will become very similar in the next decade. Oh, and I forgot to mention, in relation to your reply: what's happening in Norway and Sweden is a bit far from the rest of Europe. Fortunately for them, these countries have both the resources, infrastructure and also customer mindset to apply those models or minimizing car ownership. Actually, these countries were never, in my opinion, a car market reference, because they didn't need to. When you have low population density, an excellent public transportation system but, also, heavy taxation for car ownership (think Denmark), of course you can "disrupt" the traditional car market.

All good thoughts. I might add. That Mitsu is mostly controlled now by Renault. If you do some research on Reanaut and Nissan they have been faced with corruption and losing money. Unfortunately Mitsu has been neglected in terms of new design and innovation of late. Second point is, since when is a 2.0 and 2.4 L underpowered? The idea is to save fuel cost not being Mario Andretti. It's a cuv not a Ferrari. All the cuv s in this segment generally have the same engine size or less. It's quite adequate. Just sayin.

Not a reliable car in the long term. Owners are very biased because they are happy to have a cheap 4WD, but this car needs a lots of parts replaced even from lower miles. Mitsubishi doesn't use quality components. As for the practicability, it's an ok vehicle, very spacious inside for its size - good driving position, plenty of head clearance, high sitting position. Easy to operate climate controls. GPS is not available. Difficult to entry/exit the car because of the huge sills. The 2.4 engine is enough in 2WD mode, but lacks pep once the 4WD mode is engaged. 4WD can be locked. Stiff, jittery and bumpy suspension on poor surfaces. The Canadian RVR is the same as the ASX in Europe and some Asian countries and same as the Outlander Sport in the US and South America (not to be confused with the bigger Outlander model). Poor resale value. Overall Mitsubishi doesn't really sell a lot of cars globally. There has been unconfirmed information that they will stop selling cars in the future.

@@kevinW826 Not anymore? . Come on the majority more so in Snow belt salt areas are rotted. Trust me on that. Many many issues. You could never convince because some one babies their car. It's not just the body. Look underneath. Iam not saying all but caveat emptor all day.

Moe Anthony I live north of the boarder. So I know rusting cars. Mitsubishi and Dodge have the worst rust on a 3 year old vehicle. A guy I work with had a 2009 Nissan Altima and he had 300,000 kms when he traded it in and no rust on his. Mazda and Toyota I would take before anyone else because they are better than most. My 2015 Mazda3 has no rust bubbling on it, neither does my girlfriends CX5.

@@kevinW826 I live north of the border. You are talking about one car here regarding Altima. Take a look at the xterra sometime. The Altima you refer to may have been rustproofed. But on average nissan is horrible.Thin paint. Regarding your mazdas, yes they did improve, however look at their sales and I can tell you they are perceived to alot of consumers what happened in the past with rust. You are referring to isolated case by case but look it up or drive around and you will see for your self.

Mitsubishi has never changed !! Very ugly interior design always.. the middle console of Mitsubishi is always useless....no storage space, shift nob in an awkward position... This car is completely useless...... Hyundai and kiah understands the market... Mitsujunkbitshi !!!!
