I tried Monsters and Memories and I really wanted to like it, but I played this last weekend and it is too much of a throwback that I would rather play Everquest (yes I know it's pre Alpha/Alpha stage, but it's more the style of MMORPG). This is just my opinion, but I don't think that there is something in its road map, that this game will have anymore than a few thousand subscribers, I might be wrong, but this game caters to a specific demographic, and I think that's a success in their book if they pull that off. I just wanted to say that this was a game I really wanted to like, but for me it's just a huge time sink that I don't have the time to invest in. I don't mind the graphics at all, but I found the basic game, well just boring (yes this is a general statement, I could go into details but I don't have the time, and I don't want anyone that wants to try it and might like it, to be thrown off by an early alpha stress test). Again this is my opinion, I can't really get into the game like the streamer and his friends did, it is normal, a game is not for everyone. Although I hope for the MMO genre as a whole that they succeed (whatever the goals they have set, because we have had the Wow clones for a long time, but again I find this too much on the other scale). I hear you. Though I would say there are a lot of displaced gamers that don't want to return EQ and they want something new. I'm one of them :) I love the community so far and considering it's so early in development I think it has an immense amount of potential. I will say i'm a super small streamer and I don't feel like me streaming had anything to do with how I made friends and interacted with the community.

@@sephrok Hi I am not accusing you of anything 🙂, I think that might have been misunderstood. I don't play on any of the emulated servers or Teek (the flavour of the month or so), I play on EQ live servers and really enjoy the questing and if I want to, to grind a bit. But what I enjoy is the progression it's been doing without loosing its roots (yes krono is a problem so is wow tokens that are basically the same and will catch up with the classic seasons because Blizzard don't make even close the money with a lot more subs on classic era, than the live game with micro transactions, that's why I think that it will sneak it's way in there as it did in OG game). I play in a guild that I really like on the live servers, doing very challenging things to achieve anything there as well. I don't think in my playing experience that this game appeals to me and I am still rooting for it, because I think we need these smaller games to make good money so they will make games that aren't WoW clones. Actually I think that EQ3 might have a bigger chance to become a real project than just in its inition fase and throw spagetti on the wall and see what sticks. I also want to see EQ3, I love the game still, but I think that EQ3 has a few years to be made and made well, if not there will be enough competition or something similar and large in scope that will take its place. I think EQ has about 5 years left at maximum, maybe less and it's the most valuable IP they have, and of course the one that draws in the most money, but if they don't reinvest that in a familiar but new iteration, I think that EQ and games like M&M, might never be a a thing ever again in our life time. Fix the graphics and make the game for more people.

​@@pipz420 This is made by a small indie team, so that's not gonna happen. The graphics are actually also quite fitting to the game. If you try it out, the immersion is quite great indeed, so nothing is really lacking on that front. Many are already reporting that they're finding MnM much more fun and enjoyful than e.g. Pantheon. That already says quite a lot as well.
