I miss our little Rhode Island Reds. They were so sweet tempered. We had a few Barred Rocks, too. The hens were nice as can be but the roosters huge and so aggressive that they had to go. My husband said our last rooster, a RIR, got the message and was a very well behaved rooster indeed!

The little rooster is the beta of the flock, so he’ll be that way until he gets some size, if he grows any bigger. I had a couple roosters in a previous flock that were similar situation.
