His damage didn't increase much because there is no harmony character that buffs his gimmick while other characters and playstyles got their supports which increased their damage and increased the hp of the enemies so that endgame doesn't become too easy. Before you say that he has bad multipliers, even someone with bad multipliers like FF can be good because they have a character that buffs their playstyle
