For those looking to do this SL1, getting the right amount of damage is kind of tricky. Here's how I did it: - Get the Bloodhound's Fang to +4 at Iji - Collect the strength and dexterity knot crystal tears (need these to use the Bloodhounds Fang) - Go to Volcano Manor via the abductor virgin in the academy - Kill the Godskin noble with three sleep pots (two charged heavy attacks in a row plus a jump heavy per sleep pot, then a riposte from stance break) - Get +5, +6, and +7 in volcano manor (need two stonesword keys for +7) - Get +8, +9 in Dragonbarrow - Get the Dectus Medallion, go to Altus (to trigger Radahn) - Kill Godrick and Radahn - Activate Godrick's great rune - Collect Radagon's Soreseal, Ritual Sword Talisman, and Warrior Jar Shard (I chose to kill Alexander after Radahn, much easier to one shot then) - Kill Commander O'Niel (I used poison mist) to get the Commander's Standard - Kill the draconic tree sentinel in Altus - Head down the sewers to grab Mohg's shackle - Kill Magnus to fulfill Varre's quest - Go to Mohg's Palace - Get +10 in Mohg's Palace (chest at the top of the mausoleum just across from the elevator) - Setup for the fight: + Equip Radagon's Soreseal, Ritual Sword Talisman, Warrior Jar Shard, Commander's Standard in Offhand + Drink Wondrous Physik (Strength and Dexterity Knot) + Enter boss fight + Walk until Mohg is almost to the bottom of the stairs + Use Commander Standard weapon art + Two hand Bloodhound's Fang + Apply bleed grease + Follow video attacks (shackle, three light, one heavy, shackle, three light, one heavy, weapon art, heavy, weapon art, heavy, weapon art)

Thanks for sharing! The text document in the description includes how to set this up for RL1. But you can set it up differently as long as your attack power after buffs is between 710 and 760. The closer you can get to 730 the better.

In the immortal words of Todd Howard: it just works. Quick note: doing the WA too soon messes upp the stagger and seems to reset the build up as the followup heavy didn't stagger him either. Messed upp a few attempts by being too trigger happy on that one

Took about 25 attempts and lots of practicing of the timings, but i got it, thank you amazing strategy. You do have to get the whole sequence absolutely perfect and pray to RNGesus that he doesn't open with a ranged or awkward attack. I chose to Shackle him straight away, save on stamina and the potential attack. Also don't get caught by his big trident swing while he casts the blood spell. The adreneline of trying to nail it made it easy to attack too many times!

I managed to get this after some trying on a RL1 character. I used the set-up as stated in the video with golden vow and blue dancer's charm. Then i put on some light armor to dial in my damage bonus. It was way easier than my first rl1 mohg kill, thank you!

I did this tactic down to a t on a Level 1 wretch character. Kept screwing it up by firing off too early. I ran out of blood grease while trying so instead i used: Finger Seal with: Flame Grant me Strength Bloodflame Blade Radagons Soreseal Ritual Sword Talisman Dex Heirloom Faith Heirloom Only Dex Tear in Physick and summoned a level 1 jellyfish Worked like in the Video! One setup that works for RL1 is Blue dancer charm (remove all armor and unnecessary equipment), Radagon Soreseal, ritual sword talisman, strength and dexterity physics, blood grease. This should give you an attack power of 735. No other buffs are needed. No warrior jar shard needed

Anyone else finding this not nearly as reliable as it was in 1.13? Seems like the stagger doesn't proc reliably at all. Sill works if you do a bunch of tries though, where 1.13 it was working every single time.

It's still working consistently for me. I doubt the patch has changed anything about the Mohg fight. To help you troubleshoot, make sure you understand what causes Mohg to be unstaggerable. Check the video description.

On the second shackle I was rotating around all the way to the back (maybe the stance counter icked down just enough when I was moving) to avoid a second bleed proc. I stayed on the side and the stagger works. In any case, thanks for this vid as I've used it to speedrun into the DLC several times. Currently finishing up the base game with blacksteel great hammer. ;)

Great video! Recently, I tested a new low level character using ORNAMENTAL STRAIGHT SWORD (she has power stance for just 3 weight) and the BLUE DANCER CHARM talisman (without armor). Since in this strategy you never take damage, I would suggest exchanging the warrior jar shard for the blue dancer (without armor). This way, you should get similar damage and still have Alexander alive.

But I'll have to test it, since it's a balance between doing enough damage with the weapon art to kill him before Nihil, without doing too much damage to trigger Nihil too early, while still doing enough poise damage to stagger him.

if you don't want to burn your somber ancient dragon smithing stone and keep the bloodhound fang at +9 instead, pump STR to 27 and DEX to 20 base before equipping Radagon Soreseal. That way, your AR after putting on Radagon Soreseal + physick flask at +9 Bloodhound Fang + blood grease = 729 which was enough to kill Mohg and not require burning the +10 Somber stone!

It’s not necessarily patches but the second time it takes two casts of shackle now which leave you with little stamina, might be good to trade some of those points in vigor for endurance or find pickled turtle neck, still doable but a bit tighter

I just went through ur Script - i was "workin" on something similar. U could add another option to magnus instead of the 3 online Invasions. U can just invade magnus 3 times and it does the Job. No need to win. Cheers Mate, great guide.

Someone else mentioned having trouble getting the stagger at first, and that delaying the weapon art solved it. If you do the weapon art too soon before his "duo" animation ends, he can't be staggered. Also note that this only works on NG (first playthrough), not NG+. You could also check your attack power (after buffs) as shown near the end of the video to make sure it matches. And of course make sure you're performing the other actions as shown. Hope you're able to get it!

You can glitch trough the map with a kneeling spell and both of you will die.

I didnt kill alexander for the shard, i used rady's sore seal, RST, and dancer's charm naked and it worked. It put me @799 to make up for shard damage.

Awesome glad it worked! You can actually just remove the warrior jar shard, and you don't have to make any adjustments. As long as the rest of your setup and stats match the video it still works without it.

Okey guys, if you dont stagger him it might be bc you att power is higher than 730, in mi case i have 741 and i stagger him, but if i use golden bow it raises to 900 and he wont stagger, i hope it helps someone

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, if your damage is too high it will cause Mohg to go directly from "Duo" to "Unus" without any pause, making him invulnerable to stagger. This can also happen if you get two bleed procs before the stager, whereas you're only supposed to get one.
