You can also adapt this for other starting classes or even RL1 (level 1) - see the google doc below. We'll use a strategy that completely stunlocks Mohg for a scripted fight. By the end, you'll already be around level 80 with 60 vigor.

This run isn't recommended for first-time players. But it's great if you want to grab DLC weapons/loot early. If you want to quickly get this character strong and DLC-ready, stay tuned for my next video.

@@cmbb4531 Sorry I don't, but general tips for eleonora's poleblade would be to level dexterity and arcane, use flame shrouding cracked tear and thorny cracked tear, flame grant me strength, winged sword insignia.

@@Unclear_nz If you mean you can't interact with the cocoon, try resting at the grace that spawns in Mohg's arena, then if that doesn't work try reloading the game.

If you’re struggling with the bloodhound, you can always go into the mistwood ruins until you hear howling, then warp to kale and speak to him, and then use the emote back at the mistwood. Doing this unlocks an NPC summon for that fight(and also gives you a somber smithing stone as well I believe)

Yeah if you’re struggling with Dari, this is probably not the best method for you to get to the DLC because you will likely struggle being at a pretty low level in mid/late game areas. Incredible guide but mostly geared for people who have a decent amount of experience with the game already.

I tried it just now and it works! thanks! Also did Yura's questline for Purifying Crystal Tear (just in case), and 5:08 the bridge in front of Lenne's Rise you can cheese the Night's Cavalry (making him jump) for 42,000 runes. Mohgwyn palace has 2 Golden Seeds, one disappears if you grab the other and then die or reload the area, one is behind the Sanguine Noble, in a corpse, the other in a tree in the middle of the lake, you can get both if you don't die / don't rest in grace

if you somehow struggling with dariwil you can opt to summon blaidd for help, blaidd actually strong enough to solo the fight or died leaving dariwil only sliver of health left oh also the freaking lobster on sewer you can sleep them with just 1 pot if you are annoyed with them

I've done similar routes for the early game a lot, all homebrewed, but I almost always just grab the whetstone in gatefront ruins, kill the blood knight in fort haight, then just use that ash to bleed the big dragon. I've never tried the crafting route, but given the usefulness of grease for later parts of the run, it's definitely more efficient for specifically this route. I think a more "try to get into the dlc in under 4 hours and get more tears/seeds/bells/levels without farming" route is gonna feel more natural for most people.

I go out of my way to pick up the spiked caestus from the merchant in dragonbarrow then use that plus the blood grease to kill the big dragon. I’ve found the spiked caestus the best weapon available, as it’s dual wielded and uses less stamina than an uchigatana or bloodhound fang.

i always grab the mourning star in weeping peninsula then kill the scarab in front of the margit grace for wild strikes. You can still apply bleed with it when you use it without any FP. Wild strikes also trivialises any NPC fights like the roundtable invader as they just end up stunlocked and get bled out.

Great guide especially the Mohg strat! After the radahn fight you can also kill Alexander then to get the 10 percent version of the shard of Alexander if you feel you need more damage for the tree sentinel. Also if you are struggling surviving, I recommend killing the avatar you passed earlier otw to Fort Faroth for a quick 100k extra runes to pump into vigor and the opaline hardtear which is pretty clutch for additional damage resistance.

Things to keep in mind doing this: -Affected quests and missed items doing the shortcuts (for example Roderika's quest + Crimson Hood + Spirit Jellyfish Ashes, the spirit ashes also is used later in the game for another quest/rewards) or missing the Yura's quest rewards, etc. -Killing Irina will completely mess up the quests with Hyetta, and thus missing the best ending of Elden Ring (lord of chaos) *IMO of course, obviously you will miss the items related to the quest too, like the Frenzied Flame Seal, if you wanted to make a build about frenzied incantations or get the lord of chaos ending then I would suggest going to the Chapel of Anticipation using the teleport in The Four Belfries OR going to the Church of Inhibition near the Frenzied Flame Village. Obviously skipping/doing shortcuts will make you miss some stuff, if you are fine with it , then yes, this is an excellent guide :)

This is a great guide to not only show players how to get into the DLC easily, but how to get a strong character early if they want to as well. The only change I would go with would be going to the Church of Inhibition for the Lord of Blood's favor since you get a Sacred Tear as well. Players can just run past Vyke, light the grace and die next to it if he's too much of a challenge as well. It would add a few extra minutes, but I would say well worth the time since players will likely want to go there anyways for the Sacred Tear.

Note on getting Radagon's Soreseal; if you happen to have any runes and don't feel like giving them up, you can just quit out after you pick up the item. When you load back in, all the enemies will have forgotten about you, and you can just warp out using the map.

If you're going to buy a torch, get the Beast Repellant torch. Super useful for bypassing areas with rats and dogs, you can get it at the shack merchant in Dragonbarrow a little ways up from the map fragment. I believe it's 4k runes, so don't spend all your runes from Greyoll.

This is an amazing guide and the Mogh strat is something I just learned thanks to the video. A quick tip for everyone is that: when you're killing Greyoll near Fort Farroth, when he's at very low health, jump on the horse, use the gold pickled foot and melee on horse for the bleed proc. You then sprint to the grace, you get the runes from the dragons plus they respawn if you're fast enough. With the timer on the pickled foot, you can maybe do it once or twice again depending on how fast you proc bleed. This will make the entire run easier. Unless the extra levels somehow affect Mogh's strategy, but you could just level up other stats and respec for the DLC with Rennala.

It didn't seem to softlock him for me. Alexander still appeared near the grace after killing Radahn. Maybe it's because we visit Altus plateau before doing the skip.

The closest maiden for varre’s quest is actual the one in chapel of anticipation as the four belfries give you an imbued sword key at the top and dont require you to kill an npc

I finally did it! I must have slow reflexes or maybe just the adrenaline kept getting to me and giving me brain fog, but it took like 50 plus tries to pull off the Mohg strat successfully, but I did it on RL1. The main thing was just the spacing, because the unique move set of the Bloodhound Fang keeps jumping you all over the place and all these moves have to be placed exactly at the right spot at the right time in order to work. Particularly I kept missing the crit because he would stagger but by the time I completed the automated jump back, then the follow-up jump forward, then the step forward to crit, he would already have recovered and started his Nihil sequence, and then it was over because he'd regain all his health and kill me. Anyway with enough practice it's doable.

You can speed up the Greyoll kill by equipping the flail and using the spinning chain weapon skill. The soreseal you picked up gives you enough dexterity to wield it.

You can get a free somber smithing stone 2 by getting Blaidd's help in the Darriwil fight. You can get a free somber smithing stone 3 just under the bridge south of the east Raya lucaria site of grace, just jump down the spirit spring and turn right. There is a free somber smithing stone 4 on the patch of land against the cliff between Iji's site of grace and the ravine site of grace.

Thanks for the suggestions! You're right about spinning chain being faster, especially with blood grease, you'd just want to switch all your flasks to blue since you'd be running out of FP quickly. But for the sombers, I've found it to be faster and simpler to buy them from Iji

You know, if you hop on Torrent and ride back to the grace and sit at it while Greyrol is in it's death animation, you can prevent it from fading away and still receive the runes you would normally get from killing it. Rinse and repeat enough times you can just use that to farm a ton of runes and gain a ton of levels. That's usually what I do.

With the greyoll rune farm, you can get the runes and respawn the dragons to kill again: once you kill greyoll, summon torrent to run back to the fort faroth grace as fast as you can. As you sit down, you should hear the rune acquisition sound. Stand up, and if you don’t see the 5 dragon hearts, but the runes, you’ve done it correctly. Go check where greyoll is and she’ll be there again for more levels!

Thanks alot for making this. It is a great educational/tutorial on the importance of timing key moments in fights. Such as stance breaking or bleed procs vs damage. Like a lot of people think higher damage=faster kill, but this is a perfect example of how too much damage can trigger the next phase and the enemy can recover and slap you down. Also i wanted to ask: So can i assume that if you do the begining of Millicents quest and get the dexterity talisman, you could skip killing Grayold dragon? I mean if i saw correctly you had an empty talisman pouch, there. I hate to blather but i am just in awe of this tutorial. My last "rush" to DLC took 5 hours and i had to use the purifying tear and leveled a greatstars to +16, had varres mask got the lord of blood exaltation. I was still only level 54 because i spent all my money on smithing stonez. But holy cow im blown away, also because i just touched the hand in 2:28:25. On third attempt. Also it somehow took about 10 attempts before i landed the Radahn jump. I probably could have saved another 10 minutes because I actually got somber 2,3,4,5 and 6 on land or in caves. I forgot about magnus giving 6. Thanks again. Truly beautiful tutorial and elegant amazingly minimal solution. I think im going to run it again but not kill the sleeping dragon so i can allocate stats into weapon/damage stats. I mean really who needs that much vigor if you kill mohg hitless! I cant believe it. Thanks. P.s. this sure beats jumping off the map to despawn kill him!

You don't even need the talisman from Millicent, since Radagon's soreseal gives the samurai enough stats for the Bloodhound Fang, or if you pick another class you could always get the dexterity physick early. personally I find either using the flail spinning chain or use the morning star that every class can use without levelling up in combination with with wild strikes. It can get greyoll to die pretty fast there's also a cheese you can do on both the dragon on farum bridge and the night cavalry near lenne's rise the later is pretty simple too. You just need to have the cavalry near the branch at the end of bridge (not from the site of grace side) and throw a kukri at it, if you do it correctly he will investigate the kukri and kill itself. The dragon cheese is a bit more involved but there are video describing how to do it
