Found this by accident. I never knew there was such a thing as the New Monkees. Now I can't get this stupid song out of my head! There's nothing like the 80s. Wish I could find the CD version of this song online. Thanks for posting this.

As standalone music videos: decent music (especially by 80s standards), and mildly amusing; the Del Rubio Triplets were always good for a chuckle. As a whole TV series: in the words of Jackie Gleason, it leaves you wondering "how it was possible for a group of trained people to put on so big a flop."

I found the full episode on a beta tape because the taper was a fan of the Del Rubio Triplets and it wasn't a bad show and the music was really good - the two things that doomed the show was the name and the timing - this type of catchy 1980's music was just starting to be phased out (in part because MTV offered more diversity in its programming) ... still entertaining and a good time-capsule of the mid-1980's TV in general

Doesn't seem like they were really given the songs. And I say that as someone who grew up in and has nothing against the 80's. The original Monkees had some of the best songwriters of the 60's! Who wrote the songs for The New Monkees?

They should of used the original Monkeys home set and a funny scene could have been the original monkeys come home and kick these guys out 😂 Not saying theses guys don't have talent but the 60s was just a different time it will never come back.

Because its from a show that aired in 1986 and Thank God it was cancelled after 13 episodes. They tried to remake the 60s monkees and failed.
