A friend of mine suggested that since we are using two weapons we might see more combination skills in wilds. Kinda like how razor sharp and spare shot are together and they switch depending on what weapon you are using.

It might also mean there are a few monsters that can switch between states / elements, e.g. you might have to switch to a water element weapon to knock off mud or something and then switch back to your other weapon.

Honestly holding 2 weapons could be great for elemental too. Like water for mud barroth and fire after the mud is gone and other monsters with changing weaknesses or multi monster hunts

There's a little bit missing from the English blog article Playstation put out that's there in Japanese. It talks about a "Wounding" system where consecutively damaging a monster part will have it go through stages of damage and in the end it will become a "wound" for a time making it a weakspot and opening it up to moves from the "Focus mode". If you look closely at the monster when teh Hunster slides the blade across it you can see Scountflies gathered around certain points of it's body and that's supposed to be the indication those parts are currently "woudned". It sounds similar to the Clutch Claw stuff from Iceborne but a more dynamic way to do it

@@waderich9904 oh I agree. I did enjoy how some of the clutch claw attacks were woven into a few hammer combos, but those were the exception

Weaponswapping is a great addition and I think that a new weapon is likely because there is imbalance between ranged and close combat option. We have 11 close combat weapons and only 3 ranged options. Considering weaponswapping is a new feature, I would think that a standard pairing would be 1 ranged + 1 close combat weapon for all possible things you would see on a hunt. That is why I would like to see "Dual Revolver" or Revolver + offhand weapon (e. g. explosives). It would fit the wild west theme. It could be possible that hunts won´t be just quests like before and will have a far more open design like a way better and more integrated guiding lands. The Sandskimmer/Sandboat could be a mobile headquarters and even work for sieges.

ruri broke it down but if u look carefully for that running tackle the hunter actually uses the grappling claw to pull himself towards to monster and since it comes after that parry, its speculated that its all apart of the new focus attacks

That would be great. In World Iceborne I never really felt I needed to use elements and in older games I loved having to fight a thunder monster to get a thunder weapon so I could kill something like a rathalos to get a stronger fire weapon so I could kill an ice monster etc.. I’d like to see more advantages to elements too like maybe something almost like a status effect if you use them against a monster weak to that element. Kinda like how you used to have to poison Kushala to stop the wind or what they attempted with elderseal

Maybe cuz greatsword is like the weapon that monster hunter is known for. Charge blade came way after.

Seikret seems to be a combination of sacred and secret. Wonder if its secretly an elder dragon 😂 Also i easily forsee hammer and HH mains bringing a secondary weapon for tail cuts. HBG with slice ammo! Just be sure to bring part breaker. Ooooh! Gunlance mains bringing 2 different shelling types.

Clutch claw is not returning because they have a mechanic called weakening and it’s about attacking the monster in one spot repeatedly and the scout flies glow red on that part of the monster that’s softened. It’s gonna reward more aggressive style players which is great 👍🏽

Im really excited for Wilds! For onr the character model has better proportions instead of just massive thighs and a tiny head. The scenery is beautiful even as a desert biome but that lightning though. New movesets and no clutch claw!?! Im happy to still be alive for this. Our handler looks capable and not a risk xD. But main point here.....Why Gemma be such a snack like gyatt damnnn Gemma. Edit: Forgot to add my enjoyment with the new weapon swaps plus mount. My theory on the kid is that he made his way to the guild to get help to save his clan probably. "I hope we find them soon" But you can see the kid like on the bow of the ship searching for something

Im curious to see what they do with the hunting horn in this game. I didn't really like the changes in rise so i hope they dial it back a bit and go for more of a slow methodical weapon like in world.

Go back to how it worked in world but make the upgrade tree for the hunting like rise. I hate world hh trees all had the same song. I love how rise made every hh different

I did not expect another trailer... I just saw the words "New trailer breakdown" and then *I* nearly had a breakdown lol That slinger is gonna save my life, I used the slinger burst waaaay too much (They better have the slinger burst attack 🙏) Also, is it just me, or does it feel weird to watch the game without any UI?? If I had to guess based on appearances, I assume the weapon swapping only be possible while on the Seikret. Maybe they'll make exceptions for smaller weapons like DBs or SnS

I really don’t want any new weapons, just make the current ones better or more varied. The only weapon I think we could really use would be a heavy bow which could be cool and add more ranged options. Most of the weapons people suggest as new weapons seem redundant to me or really not cool / unrealistic. Something like a heavy bow could be accomplished too as a weapon mod for bow or hunting style you can change. Also, if the main hub is a sandship that could be great. Astera was cool but way too big. A smaller hub would allow easy and quick prep between hunts

@@yourdad5799 I feel like more than 14 is too bloated. More weapons makes it harder to balance all the monsters. Some of the ones we already have are unnecessary in my opinion. The basics are all covered. New weapons don’t really add more to the game unless they are totally unique and realistic, and we’re at the point now where there’s nothing else unique but still grounded that’s really needed in the game.

I think the palico gear is just a bonus you get in Wilds if you have saves from World Iceborne. Like you just get that gear for your new palico in Wilds.
