I ordered these about 6 to 9 months ago and have never looked back. Not intentional. It just happened. I think you said in one of your starter tool videos you try brushes until you find what you like and you will know when you like it. I have yet to go back to my Windsor and Newton Series 7’s or Raphael 8404’s Every time I decided to use one those I find myself finishing with one of the pro sables. Odd but not that Odd I guess. I really don’t think there is a bad sable and I have tried my fair share. I think there is the right brush for everyone. I think the price is excellent. I have spent 13 to 20+ bucks per brush for higher end name brands so 11 is a steel for me. But if you don’t know how to take care of a good brush then it just doesn’t matter what you buy!! @@VinceVenturella Thanks for the reply. I bought a few W&N Series 7 to replace these replacements, and some of the same issues popped up, in a less extreme manner. Very interesting review! But I have a difficult question: could you recommend top quality synthetics? Yes, I know the difference, yes I agree that if you are looking for the best quality sables are the only option. But I do not buy natural brushes, I’m vegan. It’s definitely not a place to discuss ethical problems, so let’s stay with brushes. So, what is the best, ultimate synthetic brush you can recommend? I discover more and more top quality synthetics, I have my own favourites, but I would like to explore more, so I’m asking. Bests!

I am having issues liking pro acryl paints outside their metallic which are nice for brush, it's not the paints problem per say (tho some give me issues) it's the limitations of the medium in them, I do believe for certain audiences they are perfect and I absolutely love the pyrule red I think it's called? But their lifetime on wet palette is too short for my liking and I find them not really performing as well as I like in my climate. Honestly it's a hard time to be a hobby paint brand I find as we got so many good options, personally I'm having trouble wanting to use any paint that's not ak interactive 3rd gen, kimera or GSW (fluors/metal pigments/pigments in general tbh, etc but not their normal acrylic paints as I haven't tried those). It doesn't come down to how good the one's I use are, It comes down to the lack of downsides or restrictions. So seeing this review is interesting, [edited from this point because I'm a dummy] the price on these brushes seems really really really good for natural kolinsky sable brushes. Unless of course they aren't kolinsky and just another type of sable?
@christopherheintz26342 жыл бұрын
These are kolinsky sable brushes. Their synthetic line is also pretty good, but you're paying a premium for them in the UK. They're a US based brand so they're one of the few that are cheap for us.
@nameisbad2 жыл бұрын
@@christopherheintz2634 I'm not sure why I thought these were synthetic, my bad! If that is so this is quite cheap for kolinsky sable, which is strange as brushes made out of the weasels hair are usually expensive for good ones, this pack is the same price as a single size 5 series 7 winsor brush. That makes these a surprisingly good deal hmm.

Sable Hair brushes? This is a pretty shit thing to be pushing. The bodies are basically just skinned and wasted.
@PhD7772 жыл бұрын
It is made from the tail. The (better) hair is primarily from Russia, but more and more is being exported from China - where, in fact, they are considered vermin no better than rats (due to their numbers) and are exterminated wholesale. So, instead of trapping and either drowning , burning them alive, or poisoning them as useless waste, people are benefiting from them and do not destroy them as readily. Fortunately, some Russians are trying to shear the tails for sustainable resource instead of killing them.
