Hi there both we did exactly the same, we had our T5 pop top for 7 years and loved it, but we started to feel we needed more room a nice fixed bed and a shower, we now have a Fiat Ducato Sunlight Cliff and have been so pleased. Happy camping in your new camper, the dogs will love the extra room 👏👏

We started off in a T6 commercial van and had it converted into a campervan and spent a year travelling in it. We found that it was great but just not big enough for two of us and 3 small dogs. We decided to part exchange and bought a 7 meter Knaus motorhome with no regrets as it has been fantastic for travelling, however we now own a T5.1 also which we use as our daily drive and is a day van for the odd days overnight. Salop leisure is not that far away from us and regularly go and see what's on offer. We agree about the VW scene and how they say it's great but space is so important when you are travelling around the country for more than one day. Enjoy your travels.

I have to agree with you regarding VW, we also are changing our VW California beach to a motorhome but we have stayed with a short wheel base for ease of travel so have gone with a Wildax pulsar which is only 5M but has a shower room and kitchen but no fixed bed ! Happy travels

Congratulation on your new van !! We fell into the VW Campervan trap seeing all the videos of everyone enjoying the whole experience, so we bought a brand new California Ocean. Like you we started to buy everything to try and make the the van suitable but from the start struggled with space, even went down the awning route but even that had it's problems. So earlier this year sold ours and bought the Hillside Hopton a 6 metre VW. Sadly due to the silicon chip shortage we still haven't taken delivery yet. Can't wait to watch your new adventures in your Motorhome 👍

We’re hoping to be in the market for our first MH by New Year & I’ve been researching for a while. Broad Lane Leisure, Kenilworth is probably the nearest place for us so I think we’ll take a look there too! Was Salop any good as we pass that on our trips to Wales? Your wish list is pretty much the same as ours and I really hope that we fall lucky, like you have and get a fabulous 2nd hand one. i have never really understood the fascination with the VW T5, its an expensive van that compromises on just about everything. I'm sure you will notice the difference with your Swift, I've just ordered a Kon-Tiki, (upgraded from a caravan, no more towing yaaayyy) so really looking forward to April 2022 when it arrives. Great work! We did exactly the same 4 weeks ago. Said goodbye to the beloved T6 and went for a motorhome. Had the first trip in it 2 weeks ago and loved it. Same age as you guys and with 1 dog. Not clambering over each other in the bed and room to stand up an move around. Still miss the T6 but think we’ve both made a great move!

I wouldn't say what you've brought is a van. Kitchen fixed bed, separate shower and toilet, TV. You just as well stay at home. Or buy a caravan. In my experience of owning a camper van for many years, motorhome/caravan people don't really embrace outdoor living, like you do when you have a camper. They generally sit inside and watch TV. Personally, I brought a camper to get away from home comforts and experience something different. Obviously campervanning is not for everyone but I do wish you all the luck and hope it works out for you. I'll be following on your channel.

We have had all sizes of Van all standards and a caravan ** wrong decision ** Vw , huge , mid , tiny * and every one has had its good bits and bad bits but the overall adventure and travel have always stayed the same ,,, we walk cycle explore everywhere ,,, my advice is you have got the right size for ease of travel and level of comfort ,,, brill choice , you are gonna love it ,,

Sorry but I cannot agree with you .I love my vwt5.1 because it gets you anywhere , abroad mainly where you just sleep in it as it is always to hot in the daytime .we talked about buying a motor home ,but didn’t want it sitting around for 6months in the drive but yes it is all down to personal choice and Yes you will definitely enjoy it .got a new subscriber ,keep em coming 👍👌

Very much a personal choice but certainly not for us. Studied motor homes for some time before ordering our VW California. Watched many people in the Lake District struggling with them and unable to reach places that we wanted to go. Decided on VW van because we want to buy freedom and not just take a home with us so it’s really a matter of what you want out of it. Of course that means different compromises too.
