Christmas came early and he crashed it! Cirencester trip

Our first and last trip of the year was Cirencester, this trip was special for us. We never expected 2021to start with a VW and end with a motorhome and we could not be happier.
Watch our last trip of the year and we will see you in 2022 (or perhaps we could squeeze another one in).

Andy and Jo. Hope you are not insulted but I think you two are as daft as we are. We have had a Motorhome for 6 years and in August, going to buy some new plates, bought a replacement brand new one…heart / head……numpties, but life is short and we are very fortunate and with covid around, who knows….Like you we also love the Cirencester site (although I was told off for speeding to the site passed the college in June), the park and the town which are all is lovely. Maybe we will cross paths there one day? Stay safe and well. Let’s hope 2022 is, well, better, for us all and, oh, and you will never stop all of the rattles……have a lovely Christmas.

One of our favourite sites. Our 2016 Bessacarr had loads of rattles-sticky back foam sorted most of them. The type that goes in window and door rebates. Our 597 doesn’t rattle nearly as much with the torsion bar suspension. Chester Fairoaks for New Years Eve for us. You’re right about a great community! See you down the road in lady B. 😊

Just booked the site for next year, looks wonderful, thank you, might be the blind rattling if it's open, try it in different positions, got rid of all our rattles now, main one is remove oven shelves, wrap cutlery up in micro fibre cloth and use anti slip matting in all cupboards. The campsite looks lovely (as does the town), what a great bonus to have the huge parkland to walk the dogs (the most important part of any campsite for me) and an airstream SNACK VAN - result! Relieved to hear Andy won't be on Santa's naughty list now that the drone seems fine....... I had a rattle in the skylight of my last van (Adria) and it drove me nuts, tried blinds open / blinds closed / stuffing folded paper into the surround - still had the rattle when I sold it last month.

There is a permanent breakfast bar on site now but typically was taking Christmas off! We will keep you updated on the rattle 😊

Great video . Your roof vents may appear to rattle if you have the blinds or fly screens drawn . Air still comes in even when the main vent is closed but when travelling it can make the screens rattle . Try opening them , it may do the trick 🤞

New to your channel and love the videos, as for the roof rattle we have a very similar van and found that the roof blinds when closed made the annoying noise, we find that opening them all especially the kitchen one when driving along solved them issue, hope this helps and a merry Christmas to you all 🎄🚐🤙

Definitely fancy adding Cirencester to the list, looks a great spot and love the fact you can stroll into the town too with the dogs. We too have an irritating creaking/rattle noise we’ve get to track down. Current solution has been cranking up the Spotify tunes to drown it out. Off to bath just before new year for a couple Of days so determined to find it! Our Xmas list contained mainly motorhome bits like storage boxes for the motorhome garage and a 12v chargeable vacuum. We have been getting the p*as ripped out of us for our boring gift request this year! Have a great Xmas. We were laughing at the hangry factor! We too overload on the snacks for a trip and living in Leicestershire we appreciated the mardeh comment. Well lestah ain’t it 😂

We love having everything walkable from the site. Oh let me know about the vacuum, I was looking at those the other day. I ignore the p*** taking now, it's what makes us happy right? Our first trip we have nowhere near enough food and it was not pleasant!!🚐🚐

some ideas on the rattles to look for. make sure you remove the trays and shelfs from oven put a tea towel over the hob and under glass lid try closing the skylights whilst driving put extra tea towels between cups and glasses you can buy little plate deviders that stop plates from chattering the plastics in the van can contract slightly when cold causing rattles hope some of this helps 💕💕💕💕💕💕

Hiya, just subbed to your channel after looking at your “just buying a motor home” video. Really loving the content🙌. So easy to watch. We’re still in the looking stage, but hopefully not too far off now🙏. Re rattles just watched a video where bathe lady brought some foam and cut holes out of sliced it to fit plates and glasses in to stop rattles. Looked a great idea to me. Rattles...we has a Bessie 584 a few years ago and boy did it make a noise. We used non slip mesh to cut down on lots from the kitchen area but the cab was creaky. We stuffed various bit of sponge into the spaces we could and that did help. We changed it for a Knaus and we’re staggered at how much quieter it was. Bottom line - build quality. We now have a Mobilvetta and that is as noisy as the Bessie. We’ll start eliminating them in the New Year.

Loved it as per ,, haha the rattles n squeaks ! Haha ,,, every time we set off in « Penelope » our Camper here in Brittany we do a pre flight check ,,, , all cupboards , all drawers , bathroom shower sink , all good ! Then off we pop !! 2 mins into the drive the first comment from the pilot is « wtf is that ! Lol ,,, then Liz gets up tries to find the source of the mind altering racket ,, then starts to feel sea sick ,, sits back down in a huff and we carry on and try to block it out ´´. Park up 5 mins later and find its two glass tea light holders dancing the tango in a box we forgot we had ! Then we carry on the road and await the next ear worm to drive us insane ,,,, oh the joys …. I think the only way to really handle it is turn that music up ! sounds like a roof blind rattling... we found those cheap rolls of non slip ideal for all cupboards and grills microwaves anything thing that rattles about including cooker tops... like your videos and subbed..keep them coming.

Somewhere I have never been. Will have to think about it for our next trip that far south. We keep lots of snacks etc. in the van. Never manages to go out of date LOL We have throws and do not have a dog LOL Try a length of pip insulation tucked into the skylight opposite the hinge. Our Bessacarr was missing the rubber strip on one of the skylights. We also have rubber stick on feet on all the cupboard doors.

Hi guys...I feel for you on the great rattle hunt...my nemesis took me 3 months, but I got the sucker in the end, and a roll of insulation gasket tape becomes your best friend, we too had the dreaded rattle from the roof lights and vents, all we did was change the rubber gasket to a slightly thicker one, job done, buy a large sheet of non slip matting and cut to various sizes for each of the plates, and a roll of bubble wrap and stuff the cupboards with it when before you set off, eliminating anything from the tin, bottles, cutlery movement etc..then when you set up again stuff them in a carrier and keep it in the garage, reuse when you move again. Its just a process of elimination, but at the end of the day it will be nigh on impossible to get them all because of the vans body shuttle rattle, and ours is a new Hymer ML.

Only worry when it stops rattling as you know its fell off..........Had banging on the side of ours going down a motorway and found 30 feet of trim hanging off. Nice and quite now.

Hi welcome to the motorhome community, we are not long doing it ourselves so lots to learn. Cirencester looks very nice one to go on list. As for your rattle we have one which drove me mad but I pinned it down I make sure the fly screen was pulled down when driving as this was the annoying rattle, give it a go open shut etc let us know if it works. 😃

I bought a 2018 Bessacarr E599 (Lounge) a few months ago and it rattles like a good un. I just turn the music up and sing loud enough (badly) to drown it out though. One thing I did find was the plastic 'pockets' above the driver and passenger side allows things to slide forward of the wooden partition. I found an electric toothbrush, pair of glasses, padlock and numerous keys forward of the partition (previous owners stuff). Small items like keys can also make their way between the plastic joins in the same location. If you can get your hand between the wooden partition, you may find some goodies. Another area that makes a lot of noise comes from the fridge region. So far I've fitted WiFi to it for Netflix, KZbin, etc, and it's going in for a lithium battery upgrade and some decent solar panels. Are you planning any mods / upgrades for yours?

Ro be honest the original owners put to many upgrades on it as new we don’t think we need anyway the moment. So far so good, but let’s see after a few more months. The spending never ends! 🚐

You are great vloggers and a really nice approach. I definitely question your decision Andy as a novice pilot to fly over other people pride and joys. I have run rallies for 30 years for the Caravan and Motorhome Club and one one occasion watched a DJI hit the side of one Motorhome, not great. At the moment as it’s an ongoing case £8k for a new side, The motor home owner will not have a repair and I don’t blame him. Keep making the videos as they are really good and I know how difficult it is.

Yes, the non slip mesh bought in a roll and cut to size is great in stopping rattles - we found Motorhome rattles annoying when we moved from caravanning…..the rattles would still have been there it’s just you can’t hear them! It’s early days yet I know, but having moved up from a camper van to an 8m+ Motorhome, are you finding going off site on day visits difficult? We have a 7.6m Motorhome and despite using more public transport we do miss having a car…….I’ve been thinking of an A-frame but not sure if it’s a good idea.

Well…. Last week we bought a little noddy car and planning to fit an a-frame. We have been careful planning so far but think we will need a little run around. We are still working it all out but will keep you updated 🚐🚐

@@allanjones9533 we have bought a Citroen C1 and found a place in Birmingham that is going to fit the A Frame next year. The prices range hugely but need it to be a braked Version to be legal.

My wife and I have never owned a motor home but we’ve hired two (a 6m and a 7m). Both of them rattled constantly however the rattling was from the pots and pans, cutlery and bits and bobs stored loosely. The rattle at the end of your video sounds very odd and you shouldn’t have to put up with that on such a significant investment. Looks like a warranty fix is due.
