I recently had a game where I accidentally got a significant boost off a clamber. I came down on a ledge and somehow got like a half clamber animation followed by a big boost in forward momentum. I'd never seen anything like it until I saw your Over Curb demonstration, and I'm wondering if that's what I did. But I definitely had a brief clamber animation and it seemed like the boost was significantly larger than you show. I still don't even know what combination of buttons I pressed that made it happen. Thanks for sharing this. It's cool that we're still learning new tech in this game.
@LBBubba2 жыл бұрын
Sounds to me like you might’ve done an overcurb. The clamber animation you saw could’ve been caused by a desync in which you clambered from your client-side POV, but server-side the game read that you had enough height to get on the platform without clambering, thus allowing you to slide immediately upon landing. It would’ve updated during the clamber animation you saw for you to see that slide boost.

@@LBBubba how do you do the wall kick in live fire . It seems way easier on pit imo
@LBBubba2 жыл бұрын
@@xwarxdogx6664 That’s because it has to be done off a small box on Live Fire. If the edge of the prop is too close to the wall (which it will be with that box), it’ll be harder to obtain a prop ghost since you’ll need to land cleanly on the prop *before* hitting the wall. I wouldn’t recommend trying it in a swift, flowing motion; instead, take it slow by first landing on the box, then crouch walk into the wall, stand up, sprint, and *then* try to perform the wall kick. Hope that helps! :)

Sick tutorial! I can wall kick fairly consistently now, but I'm having trouble with over curbs. I either get the speed boost with no second jump, or do an over jump with a tiny slide. Do you have any tips/know of any good tutorials? Thanks!
@LBBubba Жыл бұрын
Overcurbs are quite difficult and tight on the timing, but it’s usually good to try to time your second jump *immediately* after the slide. You can’t really predict when you’ll be hitting a speedy slide, so you just have to trust that you’ll get it and you’ll see the reward if you jump in time. As for getting the slide, I’d recommend not to wait for “feeling” the edge. Doing that would depend on a reactionary input, which isn’t practical with how short of an input window overcurbs have. Attempt to slide when you *expect* to catch the edge, even if you’re slightly early on the timing you can hit a decent slide. Hope that helps! :)

Hello, i came across your channel recently and read some of your tweets that you might quit so thank you for all of your movement tech videos! I identify myself as a competetive movement player and i often over use skilljumps and movement techs in ranked, so im a bit sad that i didnt really understand how the prop ghost works and if its the same thing as the blocker jump that was talked about a lot when the pit remake released and also how to consistently overcurb. I dont really know anyone else who does this kinda stuff and where i could learn these things but yes im sometimes really frustrated with the game as well. And also have you used the supernadejump where you jump after the explosion for more height? I got a really nice overkill by supernadejumping to top control from bottom control in recharge
@LBBubba Жыл бұрын
Hey, I really appreciate you coming by! :D Blocker Jumps are Prop Ghosts, just specifically with an invisible blocker as the prop, no different than if you were to use a fusion coil as your prop (it won’t be called a Coil Jump suddenly, unless your goal is to isolate it to that prop). When you say “supernadejump,” I think you’re simply referring to a Nade Jump. They used to be very doable and accessible to most players, but 343 wanted to get rid of them in Infinite. After backlash, they reimplemented grenade knockback, but nade jumps are extremely tight on position & timing now. Super satisfying when performed right tho! I’m glad you have such an interest in jump tech, it’s actually refreshing to see someone like you around. I wouldn’t ever want the movement/jump community in Halo to die, but there needs to be a welcoming environment that encourages that behavior and not a destructive one that actively works against players & creators. I hope you can find sparks of interest for pursuing your creativity, and maybe even spark that in others as well. Stay well! :)

Hey, thanks for replying Okay i was just confused beacause the blocker jump at least according to this one tutorial i found needed a crouch or/and a sprint input in between the doublejump
@LBBubba Жыл бұрын
@@TreasAre23 Crouch walking into the wall and then standing is usually a sure-fire way to obtain a prop ghost, but it’s not necessary if you hit the wall with some force (which is how sprint could be your way of doing it too). 👌

Can i ask you how you did the prop ghost jump on detachment in Harmony? Ive gotten quite consistent with the bazaar prop ghost to spnkr that you showed in Dreamland but cant figure the detachment window jum out
@LBBubba Жыл бұрын
@@TreasAre23 That one’s super tricky to get a prop ghost with, probably due to the steepness of the blocker’s tilt. I’d suggest to keep your movement on it to a minimum by crouch walking into the wall, then standing, and slowing your movement into it. It’ll be difficult regardless, but that can help lessen the amount of ramping you’ll do, which would help. I’m happy to hear you’re hitting those other ones though! :D Let me know if you get the Detachment one at some point too

@LB Bubba 20% is huge lmao. Refer to your sniping clip in this very video and the clip of using the tech to run away effortlessly to see why its broken. Unintended and broken techniques should be patched.

@@thatoneswarmdrone6409 A 20% speed increase across the span of 1 second isn’t that huge, realistically. If you’d like a visual comparison, I showed this on Twitter: twitter.com/lbbubba/status/1617406086763671558?s=46&t=qgCEw-JGOLy3Gp5vVcRiDA Also, the clips in this vid are for demonstration purposes and proof of concepts. You could get sniped around a corner very similarly without this trick. As far as a defensive play, it’s not so “effortless” with its precision & the pressure of combat. It’s also extremely restrictive in where it can be done, and in that example, running toward the opposite side of the map is a positional risk in and of itself. Get a full understanding of this before being so quick to assume it’s game breaking, that’s just poor judgment and yields bad decision making. If it’s shown/proven to be too available, imbalanced, and/or powerful, then it’s fair to conclude that.
@thatoneswarmdrone64092 жыл бұрын
@@LBBubba "A 20% speed increase across the span of 1 second isn’t that huge, realistically." Then you are living in a delusion. That is absolutely a life or death difference, its a get out of jail free card. "You could get sniped around a corner very similarly without this trick." Name a situation without the use of this exploit where you get sniped by someone going hypersonic around a corner. As you said at 2:47, "What am I supposed to do in this scenario." Your own words betray you. "Get a full understanding of this before being so quick to assume it’s game breaking, that’s just poor judgment and yields bad decision making." I have 20+ years of experience with Halo as a whole. This isnt Halo, this doesnt belong in Halo, speed exploits are a disease and ruin the flow of the game. End of discussion.
@LBBubba2 жыл бұрын
@@thatoneswarmdrone6409 Maybe it would be more of a Get Out of Jail Free card if you could draw it whenever you're in need of it, but again, you're extremely restricted to where you can perform it and shouldn't take any damage when doing it... and even that's a big reach to say. The speed boost you get from jumping out with a Wall Kick is practically the difference between sprinting and not, so this can be closely compared to sprinting for 1 second vs. standard running. If that's the difference between life or death, then it sounds like you have an issue with the overall gameplay, not exclusively Wall Kicks. I can put together another visual comparison to show that it's not as significant as you're thinking - it's not "hypersonic speed," not anywhere close. Again, someone sprinting + jumping around a corner for a surprise snipe is relatively the same as them doing a Wall Kick + jump, I merely gave a reaction for a scenario like such. Your final point is an opinion, even based on your time with the game. Making conclusions on a newly surfaced movement trick should be based on knowledge within the specific game itself, formed by analyzing the trick with time & experience, not limited to looking at past Halo titles. I can assure you I've put quality effort into analyzing Wall Kicks and can comfortably say that they won't have negative effects in your matches.
@xx_amongus_xx69872 жыл бұрын
No offense, I know you guys love this sort of thing, but I really hope it gets patched out. Looks gameplay breaking and annoying to experience. I don't care if competitive matches still have it in the game, but this would be ridiculous in casual play.
@LBBubba2 жыл бұрын
Looks can be deceiving, especially at first glance. I provided a couple comparisons in the pinned comment & description to get more perspective on it. It’s not as bad as you think, trust me. :) Also, implementing Wall Kicks in gameplay is similar to mastering a strafe, learning to repulse defensively, or honing into other available skills. Just because it exists in the game doesn’t mean it’ll automatically be present in casual play. It’s niche and fair in its respective aspect of the game.
