Guyss I'm a mother! Alhamdulilah, how mad! LOL Here's my 1st 'NEW MUM' VLOG I'm sharing with you the beginning of my 2nd week entering into mumhood! I'll be uploading my labour & delivery story next! :D

I don't know if I'm too laid back... But I was never over worried about germs and people holding my son. He is now 9 months old Hamdoulillah ... I am never really fussy about him being around germs... I do as much as I feel necessary and he has never been sick hamdoulillah... In my opinion, if you don't expose your baby to any germs they will never build up a good immune system to fight the germs. I know a lot of people will think my methods are crazy... But so far they have worked well. I would suggest not being TOO worried about germs. They might help her to not be sick when she is eventually exposed to germs. I have the same thoughts but then again when I become a mom I'm quite sure I'll suddenly change thinking and not want any germs around them because I'm a germaphobe myself. but I know scientifically it won't be good because it would totally not build their immune system. 😦

Very true ... Once you become a mum all of your thoughts change :) but I would just be a little more cautious than you would be with yourself ... They only thing I do with my son that I don't do for myself is sterilizing his bottles and using pre boiled water ... Everything else I don't fuss about too much to be honest ... Probably because I'm quite a lazy person haha :D

Dina! When my baby brother was born we were very cautious about germs and others holding her as well, the pedestrian recommended we keep hand sanitizer with us to give the guests and simply told them it was to avoid the baby from getting "sick" and such. No one took offence to it, so maybe that would work for you? Congratulations btw! ❤️❤️❤️💖

some bacteria and germs are good fr the baby as they help to build up their defence system. i know people who were too over the top and literally sanitized everything and now their kids have all sorts of illnesses. of course if somebody is ill keep your child away from them at such a young age but once they are at a crawling age let them crawl on the floor. goodnluck and u both will make great parents!

Salaam and congrats 💜 my youngest was born in the colder months and also hated getting his nappy changed so we used to dip his wipes in warm water before wiping him, and it really helped alhamdulillah. Also you shouldn't stress too much about germs as babies need to build up their immune system. Allah make it easy for your both, it's such a huge change, I remember when I had my first, I thought that it was the end of my life and I would never sleep through the night again. After the first 6 months it gets much easier and more enjoyable mashaAllah 😊

dina! congrats again =) you and sid are doing a great job. don't worry the no sleep phase goes by really quick and you'll get much better at it! try to go out for those walks often, it'll keep you sane lol. you look beautiful mashallah! and enjoy every second, even the poop explosions and crying nights haha. they go by soo fast. my son is almost 3 and i miss the teeny tiny days. loved the vlog, can't wait for more!

I understand being a new parent that you're sort of overprotective and don't want your baby to get sick but actually it's good for the baby to be exposed to some germs because it helps build their immune systems so don't be toooo worried about germs because some are good for the baby if that makes sense.

Not to be rude, but that's a misconception:) I'm a peds nurse and have a little one, at this age exposure to germs can be very detrimental. We recommend babies under age 3 months who even get the sniffles to be taken to the emergency. It's cold and influenza season so you need to be careful, newborns have some innate immunity from breast milk but they are definitely more vulnerable then other populations

It is really good for children to be exposed to germs. But infants should not be. I would start around 6 months or so.

welcome back its been a minute but totally understandable. you are doing really well. I too couldn't sleep when my baby slept regardless of whether there was stuff to do or not. i just couldnt switch off to sleep mode. you will adjust to do with little or no sleep. make sure everyone washes their hands before touching baby. also they remove their coats and jackets before holding baby. plus baby should always be held in their shawl or blankets. if they want to rest Hannah on their shoulder put a blanket on their shoulder first. it may be annoying for some people but do what's in the best intetest of you and baby coz when baby gets sick it will be you doing everything you can to make her better. have you tried baby olbas oil or she might be too young not sure. thanks for sharing and I absolutely love the idea of setting up an email account for Hannah

My daughter is 9 months old. I have the Britax B Ready stroller. I love it. I can be used with a car seat, bassinet the, or toddler seat. And it can convert to hold 2 kids. You are doing a great job. Take it on day at a time and enjoy all those baby cuddles, they grow so fast!

Loving this! Can't wait for more. It's been great watching your relationship grown with Sid and now your little banana :). More of these please. And I highly recommend cloth nappies (especially prefolds and covers), cloth post-partum cloth pads, Hoppediz mai tai slings and wool baby products you can lanolise (especially if banana likes to pee on everything). There are so many beautiful choices. All the best.
