Great overview....The "party proof" feature is the temperature controlled fan, it allows the NAP 250 to party until the wee small hours at very high levels! The soft-start feature is to make sure the massive toroidal transformer does not trip mains protection devices (RCD switches). It also minimises stress on the mains fuse.

Nice informative video explaining the connectivity changes. I don’t think I will be changing my current set up for these, but maybe changes higher up the range will be enticing. Power supply options for my NDX2 may be next. I wonder how the NPX 300 compares to the 555 PS DR ? Hmmm….!

A soft start lol, for an amp that wouldn't bother even a 3 amp fuse let alone a 13 amp fuse, let alone a 32 amp rcd, you can pull 26 amps through a 13 amp fuse for long periods of time, I don't think the little nap 250 is going to upset even a standard house power supply, I have had crown ma 5000 vz 's upset 32 amp circuits on start up but never any of my hifi amplifiers lol, were not taking proper power, so the nap 250 now does 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms yea? So 200 output total then double it to 400 Watts as its at worse probably about 50% efficient well people that's about 2 amps draw at 240 volts and then impedance rise of the speakers to 16+ ohms from 8 ohms the nap 250 would end up at about 60 Watts per channel with dynamic sine wave material, that's about 1 amp continuously with peaks of 2 amps lol,, the start up pull would be about the same as total power output with full load, 2 amps isn't going to upset a 32 amp ring main 😂,,
