I was worried about giving my final thoughts on this palette because I know everyone loves this palette, and I'm definitely on the boat alone on this one. Hehe. I've been attacked in comments before being alone in my thoughts on a palette, but that doesn't stop me from being honest. A few nasty comments is NEVER worth my integrity. If you have this palette and love it, I am SO HAPPY. I always want anyone who spends their hard earned money on makeup to be happy with what they bought. I got it and haven’t tried it yet. Bummed you had a so so experience because gold and sunset are some of my fave palettes just ever. Honestly i returned my first few palettes from her and the big change for me was almost always do her shimmers with finger and then buff. I noticed certain shimmers from her that is just always the case. The funny thing once got down how to use her formulas I got the ones had originally returned and now do love them. I hate things being hit or miss, sorry!

My one ND palette is the Sunrise palette. It immediately caught my eye (probably also influenced by the lower price tag 🤷🏾‍♀️). This one didn’t excite me and I felt for you as you were trying to make it work! I think you created some great looks with it, though! ❤️💋

The fallout is real. All throughout the day. I had to go over the fallout with with my double wear all day... I tried to brush them off with a brush, but it made streaks all over my face🤦‍♀️ Pros: the shades are very pretty and you can get wearable and party looks. It’s versatile. A little goes a long way. Cons: the fallout, similar shades within the palette, and durability of the palette itself. These shades can fall out from the pan so beware of that. Fortunately, mine arrived without any cracks or damage, but my friend’s palette had shades that fell out of the palette. The blue shades have a lot of fallout, so use them sparingly if you want to avoid them falling off to your nose and cheeks all day. Thanks for being honest with your review. It is a pretty palette, but there are issues with it. I felt that not many influencers addressed the issues. I liked the palette and didn’t return mine, but I’d advise anyone to think before dropping that amount on eyeshadow.

I didn't wear these looks all day during my review, after my review I've tried this palette a few times and YOUR RIGHT, the fallout is insane. I have to wear glitter glue for basic shimmers to keep them in place.. For me personally, when I spend this much on a palette, the last thing I want is to have issues with it. I definitely feel alone in my thoughts on this palette (my friend Theresa is Dead she didn't love this palette either). But I had to be honest, and I'm sorry you had similar issues with it😥😫 Last thing I want is for anyone to not get their monies worth. Thanks for the comment, I reaaaally appreciate your support 💋❤💋❤

I really love how much you love your audience to do a such an in-depth review! Thanks for your honesty! I watch too many reviews on products where everyone always just loves everything (and a week later they change their mind but don't really tell anyone!) which makes it hard as a consumer to make a decision!! I love that you don't love it and it may or may not change my purchase decision but it's such a relief to hear your honesty!! I've just bought the sunrise as it was calling me, I'm not convinced yet on this pallette but looks like such a good all rounder that I might purchase it. I just got this palette from the VIB sale, and before I got it, I was considering returning it because I bought a bunch of Mac single shadows that I’ve used for years and I know blend well together, but when I got it in the mail, there was no way in hell I could return it. It’s my first and only Natasha Denona palette, and between the formula and the shades, I’m completely in love and very inspired to play. I think it’s a beautiful palette overall

Thank you for your honest thoughts on this pallet. Some people love it and others don't. Everyone's different. This pallet didn't speak to me. Then I saw Paige and Mel's looks with it and I thought I'm sold, but now I just don't know. I am going to wait and sit on it for a little while. There's so many more I want like the Sun Rise pallet. I just bought this and I love it. In case you didn't know, ND applies her shimmer shadows with her fingers. That's how she does makeup. I have had no issues with the shimmers shades. They went on smooth....

It was on my Sephora wish list, but since you compared it to the Urban Decay Born To Run pallete, I am realizing I definitely don't need this, especially if some of the shades don't perform(or lack luster). If I choose to spend $129 on a pallete, all the shadows should be flawless! I do have the Biba pallete, and I'm so happy with it! I really appreciate the looks you did and your creativity, they all turned out pretty-hopefully I can create them myself with the palletes I have! You know I rely on you Tara, again, thanks a bunch!

I may not have the exact dupes in Metropolis and in other newly released palettes, but I feel they may look similar enough on my eyes. Also, without side-by-side comparisons, very few people can actually tell the differences. That's why I am holding back on buying new eye shadows palettes, especially those with lots of warm tones, like browns and reds.

Yes, that's it. I just haven't seen anything that makes the palette give me that "Special experience" you expect when using a $129 palette. When I played with the PM, I had that experience, the first time I was satisfied paying that much (liked the Mothership V palette, but didn't love it like I did the VI). In order to justify the price, it needs to WOW me, and love every look I create, and feel proud. I didn't have that special experience. I'm sooo glad majority did because they didn't waste their money. But I'm just not feeling this palette. Lots of looks ive seen are regular every day looks, some puke green, or blown out blue that wouldn't look good on me. Its definitely not the color story for me.. I'm glad I'm not alone, hehe🤪😁 We can be in the boat together🙌💕

I meant the cream to powder shadows in the Metropolis palette. I have the Gold palette and that Dark Green/Teal Matte is actually a Cream to powder shadow and it’s hard for me to work with. That formula is also in her Biba palette.

I am someone who doesn’t not wear much eyeshadow at all, but when I do I need quality and versatility. So I got this because it had a ton of shades. This is the only eyeshadow I own. I think it’s repetitive because it’s not for people who have all the other pallets. So she took elements from each so that it can be more of a ND starter pallet.

I hate that people feel they have to put the word “honest” in their title. It puts an undertone that anyone that has a different opinion isn’t honest. I use ND for my every day eyeshadow and I have UD Born to Run & Kat Von D 10th Anniversary to travel with. I was just away for a week and used UD and loved it! It's got everything I could need for any occasion while travelling :) I dooooo love ND though, don't think I need this palette but I also want it anyway!

Thank you so much Tara Lynn! I wasn’t impressed when I saw the color story but then heard it was her 5yr Anniversary Limited Edition w/amazing new formulas! While I love greens of most shades (cannot wait to get my hands on ND’s new Holiday mini) this isn’t it! I ordered as soon as TrendMood sent the text that it went live while waiting I started looking for swatches & tutorials, I have to admit that many of their final looks actually made me uncomfortable!!! Before my injury, I was a nurse & worked in multiple Specialties over the years, several of them brought me very up close & personal w/ death💀...sadly, this dirty, grungey greens & undertones in many of the shades are dead ringers (no pun intended) of elderly oncology patients close to death & deepening for a few hours after passing away...especially in the sunken hollow area under their eyes & around their mouths. Now that I’ve seen it, I cannot unsee it...my mind is playing tricks on me, every time I see someone using the mustard w/ 🤢 bleh undertones all over the eye & that grungy, gross DOA olive shade immediately flashes random images of *expired (*please don’t holler at me for using that term, as I know it sounds insensitive but it’s a universal term used all over the USA, possibly the world & used in physicians offices, hospitals, nursing homes, dental offices, etc!) Oncology patients which make me think of pain & despair while her Sunrise palette is the exact opposite, it literally makes me smile because it is just so beautiful!😍💃🏼

Seriously. I feel the same way and I haven't seen what you've seen. I have worked as a CNA (when I was 19) in a care center and I know that look. Maybe not to that extent, but I get it. I really haven't seen looks (including my own) of this palette that made me love it. But, I don't blame you. If the color story isn't speaking to you, rather making you feel haunted by horrible memories, it's definitely not the palette for you❤💋💋

Skin wise I am a 370 in Fenty and a 23M in Pat. On my eye lid Rhizome is the exact shade of my skin, Pure - even if I pack it - is barely visible on another color, Chrism and rope are invisible clay transition shades on me. Queen however sparkles out of this world for me, Orium looks lavender with green specks, Helena on me looks like a new penny on me. That said for me the formula is incredible! this is probably going to become my go to palette because the shades are flattering on me. I only have Metropolis and Sunset. I am a die hard fan of Mother Pat and have turned into a collector... but Midnight Sun was a disappointment, I am discouraged and now questioning my choice... although no matter what Mother's colors come out only when washed!!! But for me the Metropolis blended way better. It's interesting how the Metropolis colors look on you vs me. As for other people's strong opinions.... once you spend over $100 on a palette you can have whatever opinion you want, unpopular or not. Keep doing your thing, your opinion matters. For me, I have a feeling I will hit pan at some point on this one

Hi Tara - Thank you so much for these I looks because I just bought this palette and you know that as a beginner I have don't learn by watching tutorials like yours. Let me tell you about my experience going to alter up for them to teach me how to put on my false eyelashes. 1st of all that girl told me not to use mascara before I put the lash on. Secondly she told me to put mascara on after I put the lash on in that way the last only 2 or 3 times. And the other thing she said I was doing wrong was I was trying to put the lash right on top of my lash line instead of putting it on my skin and then using the tweezers to pull it down so that it would stay. I am going to practice her method and if in 2 weeks it does not work I'm going back there. Anything new with you? If you're bored if you could do some new videos using the new Pat McGrath quad palette that has the purple and the greenish in it I would greatly appreciate it because most people are using the one with the red in it and I didn't buy that 1 because I thought it was too much like 1 of the mother ship pallets. I got the Alter Ego dupe for this palette for $22 and have only used it once but I don't feel so guilty about the price. The quality is very good. I have a few real ND palettes which are the Biba.. Bronze.. & the Love palette. I only have been impressed by Biba. I have the Alter Ego dupes for the Gold and Sunrise palettes and love them so much. They were just $16. Much better deal and quality seems about the same!

@@TaraLynnbeauty I liked the Love palette the best but most of my looks seemed to be similar. Even more so with the Bronze. I wanted the Glam palette but everyone seems to make similar looks with it too. I figured with Metropolis that you could make alot of different ones but I wish it had more matte shades.. I've been looking up tutorials for it to get more ideas bc my two looks so far have been red and gold which ironically I can do with the Bronze palette. Your looks still came out great though but I'm sorry your experience wasn't the best!

Loved your honest review! I don’t know why people feel the need to be nasty. Not everyone is going to like the same things that’s what makes us unique. I was not feeling this palette ever since I saw it on social media before it released. I agree it looks very similar to her other palettes..and I own all of them. Now the big decision is do I purchase the mothership VI? 😂 Idk if that one is worth it either because I own all of her palettes as well and it seems repetitive.

Everyone raves about Natasha Denona palettes. I purchased my first being a small 5 pan one this summer - Cranberry. Although, I have no complaints about the quality and staying power, I really did not find it to be any more special then say Too Faced or ABH palettes work better for me.

I’m torn between this and the Pat McGrath palette. Which do you prefer? I know they’re different and I love NDs formula, however...as much I’m not usually one to shy away from color the greens, blues and khaki colors aren’t my jam. I just have most of her palettes and i love her cream mattes so I’m not sure what to do.

It was good as in person, my feelings totally switched. The Star Palette was calling to me. I hv the mini & it was disappointing so had ruled this one out. I passed on this palette. In all honesty I’m not a fan of the colors in it. I don’t wear yellows, greens or oranges. That’s the majority of it. I really liked the blues and pinky shades and most of the golds, but not enough to buy the palette. Every palette isn’t made for every person though. Just like the PMG palette, some didn’t like it. I loved it!! The green shade in the PMG palette I absolutely loved. I didn’t care for them in this palette. Great video.

I actually got that 2 years ago from Too Faced during the holidays. They were giving one away with every palette purchase. But, Huda has a good one and you can pick up felt tips at CVS, Amazon e.t.c. with nails they sure come in handy❤❤

Hi Tara - I had a really hard time following this video - for example when you click on "look number 3 it won't show me the end of look number 2 and it won't let me go back - It's really hard to explain but hopefully either I'll get the hang of it or the soldiers with the only video of yours that this will happen with if you have any suggestions please let me know

Great video, I personally think it looks gorgeous but, how many golds does one need lol I have the sunrise and sunset and that’s enough. I don’t find the formula that good. I have other products that can give me just as much punch for a fraction of the price. Coloured raine for eg or juvias place, etc ... I think these palettes are overrated and over priced. Same goes for PM IMO I don’t get the hype tbh
