So with the WPA button, you just push it and setup your other devices like laptop, iphone, iPad, etc. without the conventional enter SSID name and password? Does the Netgear come with default SSID and password sticker ?

Yes, the router comes with a mini-sticker that displays default SSID and password. It also has a QR code that links to your device for network connection.

If you set up the router's SSID & password to the same as your old router all your old devices will connect to the new one automatically. Hope this helps you😊

Easy to setup 😂 I spent 3 hours trying to set this up with the app only to call up my ISP and have them guide me through the router settings on my computer

Just got Fiber internet and the mesh system they provided was terrible. If you are like me and cant hardwire your main PC/system for whatever reason so you need to use wifi, give this router a chance. You can get a 6E wifi adapter to more than likely ensure your device can hit that 6E band and the range on this router is pretty decent. Helped me get the speed I am paying for at a consistent level with way less latency. Exactly what I needed to upgrade from the terrible wifi pods they provided.

Did you have to use a modem or can you plug this router straight into the ONT?

@@Freezy2931 This is just the router, so I believe you need some sort of modem. The fiber ISP I pay for installed the modem and I just connected to that.

So I have 2 gig internet with my ISP. Their modem router combo that I rent has 1 port for 2 gig speed (Xfinity XB8). I have 2 PCs in my home that can do 2 gig speed. If I were to add this router to my setup, would it be enough ports to connect both PCs to have the 2 gig speed? I’m just a bit confused as far as connections go.

Yes, the router has 2 Gbps capability by linking Gigabit LAN ports 3 & 4 to make them aggregate.

How do you "link" the two Gigabit LAN ports to get 2 gig speed to a computer? I assume run them both into a switch? Thanks for the help. @@fr0103

I have just realized this router does not have a modem built in like my last Nighthawk. Any suggestions for which modem I should use with it? I have a home/office situation.

Hi HR, thank you for your comment. In Australia, modems are supplied from your service provider or the NBN box in your house acts as the modem so you can connect a router directly to this.

@@Giveituphaze Not on the system I had when I posted last year (above) but now they have upgraded my NBN (in Australia) and I no longer need a modem, its in the wall as part of the new system so I just use the router now.

Netgear customer service sucks. They will try to up sell you and if you call them 3 times they will tell you that you are not friends, to stop wasting their time then hang up on you. If you call to make a complaint they will hang up on you. They also spammed my phone with anti-virus crap about 10 times. Their phone app wouldn't work and tech support told me it's to difficult to fix and hung up on me. I was told to send the router in because they done want customers like me.
