I just got one of these for my 2ft planted freshwater tank and the quality of finish seems significantly cleaner than that particular unit you got. Makes me question their consistency. Great budget light.

This light is actually really nice. The IR control is great for multiple tanks because you can use a IR repeater if you want to control all tank lights at once. Not a lot if reviews on this model. I also have two of the SkyLEDs which are also very bright and has a 2 hour ramp up/down.

Got one this year (2024) in US and it doesn’t have any of the QC issues. Maybe a factor of startup manufacturing of it, or maybe…Covid, what else?

I have 2 of the previous version for the 24/7 they did since 2019. They are on a 75g and its a pritty deep planted tank and have been awesome for growing plants but quality of build is poor but its part of buying cheaper I suppose. I just silicone the clear plastic in myself. Great video.

Nicrew includes a card in the box, it states not happy or happy. Call them and put them to the test. They answered me in one day.

I just got this lamp, and its going good, and im really happy with it for so far! The quality was good except for that the wire was bend so close to base that the rubber wire sleeve came out a little of the base. I think its because of the way its packed in the box and it splits during storage and transport and it might illude their QC. It came cramped in the nicrew box, cramped in the amazon box on one side, and the package on top of that took a bit of a hit during transport on that side. piece of foam on that end and to not fold the wire so close and probably no split wires anymore. Because the other things that ive read about, rattling screen, pcb and crude silicone, i dont have. all is really neat, snug and high standard. Feels to me like expensive even.

Is the RGB spectrum programmable and can it be made to work with the dimmer? Or does the dimmer only work with a single pre-set color setting?

I have this light and you can customize the intensity of the white, blue, red, and green independently from each other from 5% to 100% in increments of 5.

Is there one of these lights or hygger that has an app that you can set each colour and program that. Just I want to grow plants but in eve use more reds to make the reds on my fancy’s glow a bit for the eve :)

That's called a Fluval Plant led. These are budget lights for a reason 👍

It says do not submerge on the light so that's a give away of its IP

For my saltwater i use a nicerew hypereef ..wouldnt consider this light for that but i guess if you're growing macro algae, but i bet that it contributes 5o your hair algae issue.. have two of these though love them for my dart frogs

The qc issues Mostly wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if it works that well, aside from the split wire casing. I'd simply send it back for a replacement for that.

Yeah I imagine it depends on your personal standards. I don't really see £65 as cheap but half the price of an Aquasky

@@EverydayAquarist If it’s 50% of Fluval price then it’s cheap :) There is always a compromise when it comes to those Chinese brands. If it works then fine of course but…..

@@art_fpv You are paying for the brand to an extent. I doubt that the Aquasky component costs are twice as much as those used to make this. It wouldn't surprise me if it was manufactured within the same Chinese district (albeit to a pre-agreed high spec). Is the Aquasky twice as good as that light? I don't think so..

I put a massive scratch in it now! It's OK I'm using it on my tank and it's working well, I like the colour and brightness
