We got our son in law the grill last year. Just got the oven for hubby for his birthday. We love it. Pizza is amazing. Smoked pork shoulder and made killer pulled pork. Couldn’t be happier with it.

Thanks for the great comparison. One thing to note---the grill has a GREASE drip tray so meats and chicken are cooked with out added fat. The oven has a PAN without a drain capabilitry. Both oven and grill have two heating elements (top and below).

My wife bought me one a couple of months ago and I have not used my propane grill once since then. Everything has turned out great. Size is a minor drawback, but I have made burgers for four (and grilled onions). Three chicken breasts and grilled veggies for fajitas for four also fit with no problems. Another one SURE WOULD BE NICE for groups larger than four. Great job on the pertinent details of each one. You got in there, you got it said, and you got out. Thanks!

I have the Ninja Woodfire Grill and it's fantastic. No "BBQ" allowed in our building, and this one skirts the rules to live on my balcony. I like being able to have that grilling experience and it's fairy smoke free compared to a gas or coal bbq. Took me a couple of sessions to get used to grilling on it (it gets wayyy to hot - I'm cooking on Low) and the air fryer is excellent, and whilst it's small for a grill, it's large for an air-fryer and I can do air-fry veggies for four in it no problems. So far it's also been a breeze to clean.

I’m having such a hard time deciding! I love the pizza option so I’m leaning towards the oven but I also I want to use the smoker option, do you have a smoking preference on one or the other?

The smoking function is going to be very similar on both units. The main difference would be the accessibility to the food so you can baste, flip, check or whatever you might do while on the grill, but you would have to pull out the pan with a oven mitt and then do whatever you need to, then push it back in to continue cooking.

I have all 3; oven and both sizes of grills and I still don’t know which I like best I agree with you though that the grill is more convenient to flip things and grill. I was thinking which I’d recommend for my son and for their needs, I’d recommend the grill. They would grill more often than do pizza or oven cooks. I’ll tell you one thing; my Traeger has been languishing in the garage gathering cobwebs since these babies came home.

What a help !! Still weighing the options. The idea of 700⁰ with an electric unit is kind of irresistible! Capicity matters too, given the oven holds more- feeding 2-3 people vs the grill capacity of 1-2 people. Also the portability of the oven. On the other hand- having a grill in particular vs an oven weighs heavy in that direction if you dont have a grill. Got you on these points! Thanks again.

I just did smoked chicken wings in my new Ninja outdoor oven and they came out great I used the below marinade based on the Anthony coal fired copycat recipe and cooked them at 450 for 25 minutes also marinaded for the recommended 24hrs 2 dozen chicken wings cut off tips and separate drumettes and wings 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 6 cloves garlic smashed 2 to 3 tablespoon fresh rosemary 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 1 teaspoon black pepper 2 teaspoons kosher salt

for me it is price per meal+convenience+flavour=result. Yes you can tend to your stick offset for 12 hrs and get the most amazing result. Yes you can drop a £17 pellet bag into that hopper and get that 10-12hr low and slow cook. Or you can do neither and get a ninja woodfire and that £17 bag will last you a lifetime plus you can set a temp and walk away from your grill, do errands, look after the kids and save some dosh. Sometimes you just have to trade away a little bit of that flavour for some convenience. I've seen it all before in the film vs dslr debate. You have to move with times (also you can have both devices), as they say "The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on"

I just saw an infomercial on tv for the woodfire grill and wanted to see what REAL people are doing with it. Had no idea there was an oven also??? My mind is blown! I’m still thinking the grill would be a better option for me because of its smaller size and seemingly easier clean up.

Welcome 😈 But to be fair they just released the oven this week, so you're all caught up now! And yes, if this is your sole unit, and you're not cooking for many people and don't do a lot of pizzas, then the grill is for you :)
