IMO such an insane and poorly thought out idea. Most people will benefit from a reduction in noise pollution, quieter roads are better - especially when people are trying to sleep who live next to night bus routes. Many blind people have superb heightened audio receptiveness - the blind person at my work knew Who was coming just from the noise their shoes made on the carpet, so there is no need to add extra sounds? I don’t think the single blind man interviewed represented the target group very well at all. If it is such a problem, radar and sonar technology worn by a blind person would be able to indicate objects approaching regardless of whether it’s an electric bus or a bike or runner. Tube trains are also electric but they don’t need speakers installing on the front of them? Buses are just as noisy with all the brakes and gears. Why wasn’t the problem of speeding noiseless bicycles addressed first?

@@antoniorsoftwareI think that sound has been DELIBERATELY created to take peoples' sense of happiness away from them very subtly. They might've been feeling uplifted, but then this thing comes along to drag it away from inside them. I've just woken up from a dream where this sound was playing (the sound actually morphed into Chris De Burgh's song "Lady In Red" whilst the characters in my dream changed into graphite pencilled caricatures of innocent bug eyed street urchins). I'd heard that sound several times from buses yesterday and it's had a subtle effect on me - I'm really struggling to feel happy. I'm ALWAYS right about these sorts of things, and completely see the eventual outcome of what they'll do to people - they'll behave oddly when it bites deep into the brain. And as usual, they'll use plausible deniability to get away with using... this. As usual. And then do something *_else_* to reinforce what they've been doing already. Remember this comment.

@@falsemcnuggethopeI like the sound of the old MCW Metrobus from the '80s...very distinctive. The RM buses from the '50s have their fans as well. Both of which are more uplifting than...this. Yet *_AGAIN,_* something has been created to be insidiously detrimental to EVERYONE around it. Yet again. It's impossible to feel happy with that droning noise. That sound would've cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to develop, test, research, and implement - yet after ALL that, they made JUST sure, that it would cause people to feel unhappy. They were JUST sure of that so long as visually impaired people who crossed the road incorrectly were aware of the approaching bus. F*ckers.
