Thank u for spotlighting the mission & yay Nomad!!! An area near me is hoping to get Dark Sky certified, but yes, it's a huge process, there are substantial expenses, and it can be controversial. Knowing how few exist globally, im going to prioritize that project for donations once they even get to that place. But the manager of a local National Monument (a natural one) here is pretty conservative himself and is devoted to getting everyone on board with a local official Dark Sky. It's already really really dark but the farmers will need to make some changes & limits on future development need to be made, so it makes sense how hard it is to get one designated.

Yes. On my last vacation I spent every night just looking at the stars. I hadn't been able to do that since I was a child. I hate that you have to travel now, just to see stars. It's breathtaking to get the feel of living on a planet, and not just in a city 😢.

Dark Skies is a great org & movement. Many animals & plants dont function right if there's light pollution. If you've never seen the night sky in a Dark Skies location (or just an area too rural for light pollution, many towns get all panicked that it's a liberal plot 😢), you are in for a spiritual awakening!! Even in Montana, cities are mildly light polluted, but it's a fairly easy drive to a Dark Sky. On a clear night, you can see hundreds of millions years into the past, it is a deeply human experience that all modern people need at least a few times, to see the cosmos the same way people did at the dawn of our existence. The night sky is what made global & ocean travel possible, seeing it in all its glory is incredible.

Cara these looks are gorgeous!! That last look with the pink is soooo pretty, especially on your medium skintone!! I love all the research and background you did for each shade making this video educational as well as a review of the palette. Im anmm so interested in doing this stargazing and I live in Texas so I think it could be something I can do with my family without spending an arm and a leg. Of course it doesnt compare to New Zealand! ❤❤❤ I cant wait to receive mine! I was notified i won by answering the questions Nomad had done earlier this week! I never win anything so i was beyond excited. I have sooo many palettes and spend my own money thruout the year on trying new brands but I hadnt tried Nomad yet. Its was definitely on my list for 2024 of new brands to try cuz i really want to get the Ghost Town palette. I did recently purchase Monteverde secondhand and plan on a first look today with it. But back to the nEw Zealand palette, when i saw it i was ecstatic!!! Holy Sh*t its beautiful!! I can't wait to do looks. If i didnt win this i would have definitely purchased this one! Thanks for all that amazing b/g info! I was planning on going to NZ this yr (but has to be put off til next yr), but only knew of the daytime stuff. I will have to add all the stargazing things to my itinerary! This color story is up my alley, but I will wait for the singles bc I try to avoid non-magnetic palettes at higher price pts. I also have so many blues and purples, so I def don't need everything either. This color story reminds me a lot of Adept Element 115 and JP Afrogalactic. I have Afrogalactic, but also blues and purples from UE In the Dark and Dead of Night. I liked look 2 the best - very ethereal grunge. But I can see how the hoodie didn't mesh w the look. I also like how in look 1 that gold multichrome turned peachy pink over the purple matte.

My subs feed has three videos in a row on this palette!! My eye structure isnt good for this kind of gorgeous palette, it ends up being a waste, but i looooove the inspo for creative makeup. Its -40° here so im playing with putting makeup on top of aquaphor balm lol...any extra protective layers are good !

This is a beautiful palette. I can't pick it up at launch, but maybe down the road. I live in Texas, and my family took a vacation out to West Texas when I was a teenager, and we visited Fort Davis and the McDonald Observatory. That has stuck with me all this time, honestly. It was beautiful, and I can still point out constellations to this day that I learned about on that trip. I've actually wanted to go back for a while now. Maybe this is my sign. 😁
