Spoilers below .... Something I'll need to pay attention to is the number of theme words and how many are left. Once I had locked in COLON, there were only 2 words left, so it had to use all of the letters in both isolated groups.

I'm not sure the groups were isolated. The way the word search thing works you could theoretically go diagonally from E-P or H-O across the spangram without them "overlapping" (depending on your definition of overlap). I don't know if they will actually have something like that as a puzzle solution but something to consider.

I 'knew' the word in the bottom left corner pretty much from the beginning, I just didn't get it until the end because I kept trying with the Hs in the wrong order 😂

I figure the hints are fine to use on your first go. Gotta see how they help. I think I ended up using 2 hints as well. I do like it though. Hope it sticks around unlike digits did, because that one was fun too.

It's interesting. You said it's like cell tower, but in my opinion it's like a more focused version of Squaredle. It might replace it in my daily rotation of games. I was getting a bit tired of it anyway.

Similar to squaredle for sure! The "fill the grid" aspect where you use each letter once reminded me more of Cell Tower though.

Hint option is almost too powerful. Highlighting comma gave it all away.
