Tell her they are for open water and ice fishing. I just got a ceymar baitfeeder 1000 and an avenger 1000. They will both be on my 7' 6" medium light rods for walleye, perch, and crappie

This reel did not disappoint me!!! Caught my personal black crappie this year with the avenger abf-1000 drag is so smooth!!! I set my drag last night pretty loose and that big slab just took it, all of sudden my drag just started going. I’m so glad I got the okuma avenger abf 1000

I have the okuma avenger 4000 series i use for open water channel catfish. I love those reels for the money

I've been using the 2000 version this open water season, and I've been pretty impressed with it for the price. I've caught some nice fish and for a small reel it handled them like a champ. I think I'm going to convert it over to 6 lb and use it as a dead stick rod for the hardwater season.

I had a 4000 last year for big fish and it worked great but doesn’t fit in the rod case to well 😂

I've found Okuma to be one of the few manufacturers to use a reel grease that is still subtle at -20 celcius temps.

I've enjoyed a couple of the older Okuma ABF reels. The newer Avenger comes with a $10 price increase, hopefully there's some improvement to a very good quality reel. This year I'm going to team one up with a Power Noodle rod for everything from bluegills to walleye. What do the experts think?

Power noodle and walleye to me don’t go together but that’s all up to you 👊🏼😂 but on a side note I have caught plenty of giants on my Bullwhip 🤔

I have but I don’t like the lack of the interaction of setting the hook and you miss a lot of crappie and perch with it

The only issue with these reels is that Okuma decided not to produce them in 2 or 3 K size... certainly reduces your options 🤷‍♂️

I need a reel for my Vulcan Rod by tuned up custom rods 1000 but its for jigging so i probably dont need a bait runner huh? For ice fishing

Size 500 and 1000 have same drag capacity. The 1000 just has bigger spool size.

Kinda funny I cut down an old 2 piece rod and it looks damm close to that rod clamp and all ..... its 44 inches and I use it for jigging pike and bass

All I did was pulled out the top cut about a 3 inch piece were they slide together then left about a half inch on the handle side glued It I want to redo the outside and wrap it to help with glue chipping
