Thanks for showing the loaded action of the rod. THis is a key piece that is often missing from rod reviews. For an additional layer of detail, it would be great to see the rod action under specific loads, ie 8 lbs, 10 lbs, 15 lbs. Thanks for your reviews!

Question, what reel would you recommend with this setup? I just got the rod now for the reel. Cheers Doug
@DaveysWorldFishing Жыл бұрын
Hi Doug. If you are looking for a good all-around standard reel, I’d take a look at the Okuma Cortez reels. Something like the CZ-10CSa or CZ-12CSa. From rockfish to tuna, these will do you right. If you get the spinning version rod, I’d take a look at the Cedros Spinning reels. A 6000 or 8000 size will be perfect for the same fish I mention above. Hope that helps.

Are the blanks and strength of these rods similar to the nomad series or are they a lot stronger?
@DaveysWorldFishing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy- I asked this question of the product manager at Okuma. He mentioned that the Nomad rods were very durable. The difference in these is that they feature Okuma UFR technology, which strengthens the tip section of the rods.

One more question, why did they downgrade the warranty for these rods when compared to the nomads? They used to be lifetime but now only 1 year.
@DaveysWorldFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@nancyn3863 So much of final pricing goes into warranty. With the price of components and materials skyrocketing, they try to keep these competitive. Pretty understandable.

Hi Dave, have you ever pulled on the Daiwa Saltiga G Travel Boat rods? I'm curious how they compare. They have the same ferrules configuration and "one piece feel". The one I have is a 7' 3 piece 12-25lb rod for reference and is a beast. Considering if the M/MH could serve for more of a 30-40lb stick for San Diego offshore fishing? Thank you!
@DaveysWorldFishing2 жыл бұрын
I have not. These rods are pretty stout. I think they’d serve you well for SoCal offshore as well.

@@DaveysWorldFishing thanks for the quick reply. I am going to order one and check it out! Love that if you accidentally break a tip on a trip, you have a backup and can keep fishing. Tight lines!

@@chrishaener8702 That certainly is a handy feature.
