I have to admit. I am addicted to this game. I love the fact that I can lay on the ground. Or sit down when peeking a corner like that road block and shoot. Just wish there wasn't so many children on it and that more of my friends had quest. We usually link on insurgency sandstorm. This game is just incredible. Yeah it has its flaws. But man as soon as I got it I did t see my wife and kids for 2 days. Yeah we were in the same house together. But I was over their!

That's the issue with VR right now. It's too expensive for indies to develop full games, but studio's with money don't want to risk it on the kinds of VR games that would actually work. So we get too many "VR" games that are really just dual stick non-VR shooters pretending to be shooters. If devs learned from half life alyx VR would be so much better. You have to focus physics, room scale, immersion.

Glock, the floating man thing you experienced, it's a glitch. It's like a dead model for an npc. It's the same thing in Shooting Range, the only difference is that it's really close to the ground.

i wish they would add a 50 cal and new assault rifles and support weapons. and some cars, helis and large open world maps with gun mounts on the stuff just to make the game alot more fun. So you can do stuff like convoy's, heli support and just a general war that goes on for weeks, months, or just a while.

While that’s an interesting idea, it completely defeats the purpose of what Onward is trying to be. A battlefield-like VR shooter seems more like something that caveman or vankrupt would do

The last time downpour made a big change in the name of bringing in new players, they released 1.8 which pissed off their entire community and defamed them as the “developer who sold their soul to meta”, so I don’t think they’ll be trying something that extreme any time soon

hello i just started onward and i have a question , im on quest 3 and should i buy a gun stock? because i dont know if it's worth it

I’ve been playing Onward for 3 years at this point and I’ve never used a gunstock. A gunstock is only worth it for competitive or immersion, but besides that I think you can play just as well without a gunstock if you know the map, spawns, angles, etc to outplay the other team. In the end, because of Onward’s low ttk, the game more often comes down to strategy rather than aim

The server browser itself is just generally busted. There’s not really much of a fix for it. Try spamming “apply” and “refresh” but besides that you might just have to play in the core playlist

the update broke the game for me, i cant even open it without it freezing and then evenutally crashing. I've tried everything, waiting (i've waited a month and it never fixed), uninstalling reinstalling, restarting computer, nothing works.

Servers are always full, if that's what you're asking. Here's my suggestion: New to VR? - Onward Not new to VR but can't dedicated 30+ hours a month to one game? - Breachers Die hard experienced VR vet with 50+ hours a month? - GoT All of these games are substantially popular and you'll be well off with whatever you get

Exchanging wires for visuals. I don’t use PCVR that much tho because it constantly crashed and bugged out. I recently upgraded my memory tho and that seemed to have fixed that problem, so I don’t expect to be playing much more standalone anymore

I know graphics aren’t everything, but honestly the graphics on here suck. I thought Ghost of Tabor had poor shaders considering it’s rubbing off of Unreal Engine 5. But this is unacceptable. With that said I’m going to make a video on this only because i got it with my quest + subscription.

No. It’s just an issue with how the footage exported. The game runs incredibly smooth. I’m already looking into solutions to get more reliable footage 🤞

TLDR; Big updates are much more common than they were about a year ago It used to be so much worse than this. Back when they relaunched Turbine and added the MCX and AK104, there was a massive update drought afterwards that last for what felt like over a year. That said, I feel like there’s been quite a few BIG content updates (like the Fire Fight update and this recent NVG update) that have released pretty close to one another. Idk if they just got a bigger team or something, but Onward feels so much more *fresh* than it did like 18 months ago.

Game is def not dead. The server browser is just generally really buggy. Try reinstalling or checking your server regions. You can also just play directly through the core playlist instead of the server browser if it’s not showing anything.

@@Budderluvr No, I don't agree. *TLDR; keeping both versions would have cost them development time working on a set of servers that most people would leave behind for populated quest servers anyway* The 1.7 version (pre-downgrade) was available for steam players for a long period of time after 1.8. I can't seem to find why it is no longer available, but it's pretty safe to assume the following Running servers for a separate yet upgraded version on PCVR would be pointless. Most of the already small player base would have migrated away to play on populated Quest servers. The weak player base on PCVR servers may have been hard to support altogether. Not to mention, it would drastically hinder development. Downpour said it themselves in the recent patch notes that they have had to fix map bugs on 4 different versions whenever they appear: PCVR night, PCVR day, standalone night, and standalone day. That is wildly inefficient. That is time that could be used to develop new guns, features, or even work on optimization. Yes, you are correct: it is stating the obvious to say that the game looked better pre-1.8. But just saying that doesn't prove anything. Stating facts without actually using them to support an argument doesn't get you anywhere. I'm not trying to create hostilities. I mean no hard feelings against you. Please let me know if any of what I've said doesn't make sense and I'll try to rephrase.

Hmmm. Wierd. Are you on standalone or PC? The PC server browser is super bugged and hardly shows any lobbies. Trust me, the game definitely isn’t dead. If your server browser isn’t working then you’ll just have to try using the core playlists
