I have been wanting to buy my daughter a lot of cheap faceted gems to fill her treasure chest with. There are so many people selling like items online and these days. Not a very hard stone at all and prone to cracks because of there porous nature and the water content in side seeping out, but probably one of the most visually pleasing. There some beautiful stones and the geology of how they form is just as interesting. Some of my favriot is pipe opal. There opalized fossils from ancient squid that came from the great inland sea of Australia from a very long time ago, I can't remember the name for that period in history but it was a very long time ago lol.
