DT Swiss is just so reliable and easy to work on, I love to see them getting in the high-engagement hub market!

Wow this is the first time that Dt Swiss puts a smile on my face, I have been doing some climbing where I could really use that engagement, and throw a little bit of everything at it.

The hub shell flange width seems not as wide as some other brands. It’s a marginal difference but is notable. Especially when doing spoke calculations for a custom wheel build and comparing hub brands.

Hydra killer?? 😮 - also does Jenson corona shop do wheel builds if we buy these direct?

I would assume so. They have some good mechanics that have gotten me out of a pickle numerous times

DT DEG 90 poe $500 I9 Hydra 690 poe $460 Hope Pro 5 108 poe $280 I’m a DT fan but I’m not seeing the performance per dollar here compared to the competition… And reliability wise they are all on par with one another. Pro 5’s for almost half the cost of these seems like a no brainer

Dude! Not everything is "POE" numbers. You are comparing bombproof RATCHET system vs hubs with PAWLs. In terms of reliability, there is simply no comparison. Ratchet system is superior. Especially in high stress applications like eMTBs. For these applications DT Swiss even offers STEEL ratchets. That being said, I would choose DT Swiss 350 Hybrid hubs with 24T (low engagement, tough steel ratchets, high reliability) on an EMTB... and smooth, high engagement i9 Hydras on an "analoguein" bike.

Ordered one from you guys! Excited to get it soon! You guys didn’t have MS only XD, how can I get the proper free hub for MS? Will you guys get it in stock or be able to do a swap of free hubs for me?

I'm not seeing any in stock or on order at the moment, unfortunately. The freehub you are looking for should be HWYABL00S0956S, but double check to make sure before buying.

Hot? Maybe not? I'm a SP CL kind of guy so the DEG (Classic IS) is not for me. At 270 g it's 71 g more than DT240 EXP and 44 g more than DT350 (both SP CL). High POE is sooo lame :) having standard 36T or optional 54T is both good enough, also less pedal kickback than 90T. Another benefit with DT350 is larger diameter 6902 hub bearings with longer service life, both 240 EXP/DEG use smaller 1526 bearings. One benefit that DEG shares with DT350 is dual easy removable/replaceable ratchings rings, where EXP need special tools to remove the inner ratchet. The one uniqe benefit of DEG seem to be wider bearing placemet on the hub axle, the drive side hub bearing more to the right and the left body bearing more to the left, made possible using larger diameter ratchet rings with single sided flanges making the respective (and rather small) bearings fit inside the diameter of the ratchet rings. This will most likely reduce forces to the axle mid ratchet, making DEG more durable and lateral stiff. THIS is probably the only real benefit I can see for gravity riders? Personally I have never bent or broken a DT350 axle and will continue to buy DT350 with it's larger diameter bearings and lower weight, at 40% of the DEG price. So for me DEG is a not, not a hot. Note. If you still haven't broken your i9 Hydra axle (serious design flaw) you will never ever break a DT350. Hope Pro5 on the other hand seem to be a solid option if you really want (not need) higher POE than what DT350 offers.
