New ORA Ballet Cat in-depth Walkaround
The ORA Ballet Cat is a battery electric compact hatchback produced by Chinese EV manufacturer ORA, a marque of Great Wall Motors since 2022. Its design is inspired by the Volkswagen Beetle, with similar proportions including an almost flat windscreen, sloped roofline, and headlights on fenders. However, the Ballet Cat is much larger than the VW Beetle A5, measuring 4401/1867/1633 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm.
Under the hood, the ORA Ballet Cat is equipped with a 126-kW (171 hp) motor on the front axle, with a top speed limited to 155 km/h. The car also offers two battery options: LFP for 49.92 kWh (401 km CLTC) and LFP for 60.5 kWh (500 km CLTC).
Inside the car, there are several retro features mixed with modern details. The center console features two screens in an oval-shaped block, with the infotainment screen being larger than the instrument panel at 12.3 inches in diameter. Additionally, there is a wireless charging pod in an oval-shaped ambient light and a makeup storage compartment in the center tunnel. The ORA Ballet Cat also comes standard with ten speakers.
Overall, the ORA Ballet Cat is a unique electric vehicle that blends retro styling with modern technology and offers a spacious and comfortable ride.

@@eugenegilleno9344 I put the the beetle in the same category as that clown circus car - the Renault 2CV. Only, the Beetle was much better screwed together. People love their cars to have character & make them smile. Both of the above did it in buckets full. I never rode in a 2CV but watching them bounce about on the roads I think I'd have been sea sick. I've also seen a couple of 2CVs on fire on the hard shoulder of motorways as I passed by. I believe they were very prone to igniting like a Ronson. I have ridden in a Beetle many times. Very, very noisy with that air cooled boxer engine behind you. But I loved the painted metal dashboard - very cool.

Before the 1998 Beetle came out, I answered a survey about the possibility of the prototype they had produced becoming a reality. It was in Popular Science. Volkswagen actually called me to ask further questions about my thoughts. It went into production shortly after. Still feels cool I was one whose mindset was picked as they contemplated production.

Chinese are creating all styles of EVBs. I like this one. It has a charging port on both sides. It reminds me of a VW beetle, but overall cute. I like goldfish swimming on the front dash screen. Interior materials look cheap but have creative design. I don't dare compare it to all other EBVs in the US, but I see the uniqueness of Chinese vehicles, and I value that.

Press-knobs look more hi-tech and cool, but rotary knobs are always more user-friendly! Especially when setting air-condition. On my car, there are press-knobs for climate controls, I have to touch it 6 times to increase or decrease the heat 3 degrees, rotating a knob only once would be much easier. Anaolg is always better when using.

Year later reply lol, ora is a subrand of great wall motors they manufactured only trucks since 1984 until very recent My dad owns a 2007 great wall safe, which is a "knockoff" of a toyota 4runner with the drive train of an old hilux, currently 400.000+ km, and only needs a new clutch

I really hope ORA decide to export cars like this to the United Kingdom. I personally love this little electric VW Beetle look a like. I'd definitely purchase one sometime in the future especially with the country having to go electric. It's a really good idea of ORA to bring back classic cars that the car companies are dumping because of conversion costs to electric. Without loosing the classic look of the cars also with the all new elements. Very impressed.

Uns criticariam que é falta de criatividade por copiar o fusca, mas eu diria que pela quantidade de acessórios e funções é um carro bem confortável em comparação ao antigo fusca de motor traseiro e refrigerado à ar. E duvido muito que essa geração nova dos atuais carros automáticos, com ar condicionado, direção elétrica, multimídia, espelhos e vidros elétricos, e etc, conseguiriam dirigir o antigo fusca. Iriam ver o que ser motorista numa metrópole igual a cidade de são Paulo no horário das 17 ou 18h dos dias normais.
