This song saved me from taking my own life, I was going through tough times & listening to new order repeatedly really was the only thing that kept my mind from racing all day. Now that I’m doing better with myself I can still listen to new order & reflect on where I was at & appreciate where I am now. Music is beautiful 🙏🏼

While the youth were digging The Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" in 1983, I was obsessed with this song by New Order. I love the artwork on the cover of the "Power, Corruption And Lies" LP, "A Basket Of Roses", by French Impressionist painter Henry Fantin Latour, that I ordered a copy from the London Gallery in England in 1989! I paid about £60.00 English Pounds Sterling and had it professionally framed. Since the London Gallery didn't sell reproductions of the painting, they actually went into the Gallery and photograped the original painting! I still own it. It's hanging on my bedroom wall.

While “Ceremony” will forever be my favorite New Order song, this song, like so many New Order songs have been my 3-6 minute therapy ever since my oldest gave me a copy of “Substance” on cassette for my 13th birthday. Music is so personal, that I don’t really like to share it with others, singing along with thousands of strangers to the lyrics that dotted by formative years in a concert hall is transcendental.

A fantastic song. It elicits emotions. The desire for an old man to dance. But I believe what does that is the vocals. They are real. No pitch correction. Sometimes a little flat or sharp. You know you are listening to a real human being. All done over the fairly rigid super techno music of the song. The contrast is what makes it human. AI will not be able to do this. And it won’t understand why it is disliked.

Pure beauty. I was a little kid back then, and a neighbor had the tape and played it loud. We school kids in my garden would dance to it so carelessly, having no idea of lyrics or the band, 'cause this song consents happiness to all extent imaginable. My first encounter to Alternative/ new wave /no wave/ whatever and forever. Saw NO live in LLollapllooza 2014, was in first row and danced like possessed ja ja ja, the singer stared at me at any moment, Age of Consent will happen in your face 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
