I'm a teenager so I didn't grow up listening to this kind of music and frankly didn't get into music until a few years ago when I started digging through the rabbit hole of Spotify on some leads from my dad. Old new wave bands like New Order are just kind of just splendid music I've found myself attracted to, but I never had that warm feeling of checking out new songs that were released. Being able to listen to this single has been a dream come true. Thank you, New Order!
@darkaneurysms86334 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you discovered New Order,Scott. This new song is fine,but New Order isn't quite the same without Peter Hook. The older stuff that you're familiar with from the 80's was when the band was at their peak. I've been a fan since '82 and I'm glad to see them still performing,but it's not quite the same and I do hope the guys will reconcile one day and we can have the complete band of New Order back together again. But in the meantime,check out all of their older stuff. My favorite album is Power,Corruption and Lies and their best "greatest hits" album is "Substance" and I think it's pretty cool that a youngster like yourself,enjoys music from a different generation. You have a good taste,kid!👍

Dude I’m literally in the same boat. Never listened to anything like this up until about a year or two ago, synth-pop, new romantic new wave stuff, then I heard Nik Kershaw’s Wouldn’t it be Good and A Flock of Seagulls’ Wishing (If I Had A Photograph of You) on Absolute 80s (UK 80s radio station) and this door just flung open and now it’s all I practically listen to: Depeche Mode, Human League, OMD, Bronski Beat, Yazoo, it’s been an absolutely wonderful experience to discover all this, much to the stunned surprise of my mother who grew up with all this stuff! 🤣👌🏼

New Order are legends forever. PERIOD. I really like this song. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece by any stretch but its arrangement is completely catchy and Bernard's voice is working just fine. One of the criticisms I have is the lyrics . Don't get me wrong they're heartfelt and thoughtful but for me the very best New Order songs are the ones where the lyrics are ambiguous so as to be interpreted completely different by the listeners and I always loved that about them.
