This seems fitting as Glastonbury is on this weekend. New Order came on late on the Friday night. It had been a warm day, and the sky was clear, so by this time it was absolutely freezing. In 1987 they still had the pyramid stage, which was very high up. I was filming from down the front on the right hand side. The camera was large and heavy and was hard to keep still amongst the constantly moving people around me, and I had to constantly avoid heads. I could get a fairly steady shot of Barnie, but Hooky kept disappearing behind the monitors at the side. In the morning the camera wouldn't work as water had condensed onto the playhead with the tape still inside the camera. Luckily later in the day that cleared in the summer heat, and I got the tape out undamaged.
